The three tribes recieved mail in their mailboxes about another reward challenge taking place at a coned off section of sidewalk. Nick waited as the three tribes made their way down the sidewalks to meet with him. He congratulated the final four members of the Brooklyn Tribe as their predestined Tribal Councils are now over and they now have a shot at immunity, then he spin them for a loop as he said they'd have to do so without the Brooklyn name. The 14 competitor's jaws dropped with that statement. But, he said that they'll compete in one last challenge as a tribe. With that, the rules were explained. It's a chess puzzle. With each tribe having it's own chess board, they must work together and place eight queens on the 8-square by 8-square board, without any queen being able to take out another. The first tribe to complete the task will win reward. The reward was getting the pick of what two members of the Brooklyn Tribe will permanently join their tribe, leaving the other two to the losing tribe, and the winning tribe will also win another 3 meal visit to the soup kitchen. If Brooklyn won, the four will remain intact as a tribe and will select which tribe to break apart. They will inherit the Tribe's name and select three people from that tribe to keep with them, the other four go to the other tribe. Having a one-person advantages, Queens sat out Roy while Bronx sat out January.
On go, the tribes raced, strategized, thought out, and occasionally screamed and spazzed out while trying to place 8 queens on the board without one wiping out another. Leigh and Adam took the reigns for Queens and had 7 queens on the board, but no matter how hard they tried they couldn't find a way to place the other queen on the board without it lining up with another queen. Eventually, the tribe took all the queens off of the board and tried again from scratch. Brooklyn struggled to figure out the puzzle. Danielle S. tried to sneak a peek at the Bronx Tribe's board, but got caught by Danielle P. that chased her off calling her a "cheater". The Bronx Tribe slowly worked at the puzzle and kept their focus together, huddling themselves together closer to keep eyes away from the board. Queens shouted that they had the puzzle done, as an upset Brooklyn watched on in horror. But in close inspection, Queens had a queen that would cancel out another, so they had to start over. After a quick sigh, Bronx and Brooklyn worked anxiously on the puzzle. Finally, Bronx said they might have it. After another inspection, Nick declared them the winners. They shouted and hugged each other with the victory. Both Brooklyn and Queens were upset about losing the challenge.
