| Walking out through the back door of the garage, the cold breeze hit my face instantly. "Where is he?' I thought went he was not in sight. Worried, I looked around the yard for awhile. That's when I heard a murmur behind the large bushy trees that were along the fence line. "Jonathan?" I whispered softly. "GO AWAY!" was all he said to me. Part of me wanted to just go, but I didn't. Leaning forward, I pushed back some branches to see him. Jonathan was curled up in a ball, holding onto a white container as though his life depended on it. "What's that you've got?" I asked, very curious. "I don't want you to see me like this," Jonathan whispered bearly. "Can I have a look at what it is then?" I said. Not replying verbally, but just shaking his head, I took the container off him. That's when he looked at me. His eyes were dilated. Something was seriously wrong. "Baby? What this doing to you?" "It helps me kill the pain," Jonathan said in a deapan voice as though he didn't care what this was doing to him. Opening it up, I found white, oval shaped pills. "What is THIS shit Jonathan?" I asked angrily. "Nothing," he bluntly replied. "Well. You won't mind if I had some," I said, still pissed off. "NNOOOO!" Jonathan screamed and leaped over to me. "Please don't. It's my problem," he said in a kinda of a begging way. "Jonathan, if you want to be with me, then It's my problem too. I don't want you to have anymore of this crap in your system. NO MORE," I told him. "Okay mother," Jonathan said sarcastically, but I knew he got the message. Kissing him on the forehead, Jonathan layed on my lap for a while. I started to play with his hair for a bit, to calm him down. That always worked for me and it seemed it did on him too. Moments later, he was asleep. The next morning, I awoke in a strange bed. I sat up, a bit freaked out. "Hello?" I yelled. I could hear movement outside the room I was in. "Hello? Anyone?" I yelled once more. The door opened. It was Munky. "Hey, Jonathan is just down the road at the store. He won't be long," he said and left the door open. I was at Munky's place. Relief. 'Thank god I wasn't at some serial killers place' I thought. Oh my god! My mum. She wanted to have a mother and daughter night with me last night! I think I should call her. Walking out of the bedroom and into the lounge room, all the guys were there, except Jonathan obviously. Playing arm wrestles. I laughed at them as I walked over to the phone. "Munky? Can I use the phone?" I politely asked. No answer, he was too busy with the silly yet hilarious games the guys were playing. "Sure you can, he won't care," Head bursted out. "Oi! *laughs* You don't pay the bills here," Munky playfully told Head. Grabbing each other hands and putting their elbows on the table, the match was on. Dialing, I waited for my mum to pick up. "Hello?" "Mum?" "Veruca. Where are you?" "At a friend's place. Sorry bout last night. I got.... distracted." When I said the last comment, the wrestling at Munky's stopped and the guys gave me these looks that made me feel embarrassed. 'I didn't try anything with Jonathan last night.... Did I?' I thought as they looked at me. "That's okay. I'm just glad you called. George is coming over tonight if you want to meet him." 'Who's George?" "My boyfriend." 'Great! Not another one!' I thought. My mum has a tendancy to go through guys like used tissues. "Okay, well I might stay over here again tonight. I'll come by soon for more clothes. Okay?" "Sure, bye," my mum said and I hanged up. "How was Jonathan this morning?" I asked the guys. "Same old Jonny boy," David said. "Okay, thanks. I'm just gonna go have a shower if that's ok," I said. "My place is your place," Munky replied which made me feel more comfortable. PART FOUR (JONATHAN'S VIEW) Why couldn't David stop drinking all the milk, I didn't know why. All I wanted was some breakfast. When I got back to Munky's place, the guys were playing around as per usual. Hopefully they haven't woken Veruca. "Hey man, what took you so long?" David said and walked up to me. "Whatever, your lazy ass could have gotten the milk, but NOOO..." I said sarcastically with a laugh here and there. "How's Veruca doing?" I asked Munky. "She's fine, she's just taking a shower," he replied. A dirty thought came to my mind, but then I thought after last night, she might want to take it alot more slower. "Thanks man," I said and walked off to the kitchen for some Fruit Loops. My favourite cereal. A bowl of cereal and 20 minutes of deep thinking about things in my life, I walked about into the lounge where the guys were not stuffing around but sitting down on the lounges. Fieldy was on the phone, booking us a gig. NEXT PAGE>> |
