PROFILE:
The Club was established in the year 1988 under the dynamic leadership of than
Rotary president Rtn. Shyam Sunder Bhatia and active perusal of Dr. G.S Shergill
than Principal Khalsa College, Amritsar. The club is held in high esteem in the
college and it is an active participant in all extracurricular, cultural & academic
activities of the college. The club is now led by the able team under the leadership
of Rtr. Anantdeep Singh Dhillon - a student of M.Sc Honors (Agriculture). The club
started its activities and projects for the year 2004-2005 with formal handover
of charge by the outgoing team headed by IPP Rtr. Gurdeep Padda. The team for 2003-04
did very good work and earned accolades and goodwill in the college and District
as well. The club hosted the visit of 2 Rotaract teams from Maharashtra (India)
under Inter Distt Youth Exchange (IDYE) in 2003-04.
- The club year 2004-05 started
in second week of July handing over of charge by IPP Rtr. Gurdeep Padda and recruitment
Campaign as first and foremost project.
- 25 new members were added
to the club. The membership strength stands at 38 members.

Anantdeep taken as member of the Rotaract District cabinet-R.I Distt 3070, currently
serving as Director-Cyber Media & District Editor/Distt. Secretary Reporting respectively.
- The Ist unique project
was the participation in 5 days long "Vigyan Rail" Exhibition celebrating the
Year of Scientific Awareness from 31st July 2004 to 4th August 2004. 10 club members
were appointed as volunteers on the special invitation of the District Organizing
committee. They were deputed as guides in the exhibition and also helped to maintain
discipline in the exhibition train.
- The club appointed as associate
for spreading scientific awareness and two club members Gurdeep and Anant selected
on board of the District Organising Committee "Year of Scientific Awareness".
- Slopes were constructed
in the college for handicapped students by actively pursuing the matter with college
authorities and helping in the construction activity.
- Organized a tree plantation
campaign in and around the college, 50 saplings of different types of flowering,
ornamental and shady plants planted.
- Inter faculty Quiz Competition
was organized to select a team that represented the College in University Youth
Festival-2004.
- The Club members were actively
involved by college authorities in organizing the Talent Search Fest. The club
members actively participated in organizing the function, which was held over
a period of one week. 4 club members were awarded for their performance in various
cultural events as well.
- The club members were specially
invited to attend the installation ceremony of our sponsor Club Rotary Club Amritsar
- Main where Lok Sabha Speaker Hon'ble Shri Som Nath Chatterjee was the Chief
Guest. The club team comprising of 4 members interacted with the worthy Speaker
about the Parliament and Indian Political System. The team members also interacted
with the Rotary 3070 Distt. Governor Rtn. Dr. Beena Misra.
- The club members participated
in the Mid-night Candle Vigil at Wagah Border on 14th August 2004.
- A team of five club members
attended a special function for children organized by Rotaract Club Lohian Khas-Greater
on the eve of Independence Day (15th August 2004).
- A joint meeting was organized
with up-coming Rotaract Club of S.R. Govt. College for Women, Amritsar to help
them understand the administration, programs and policies of Rotaract in the 3rd
week of August 2004.
- A team of 8 members led
by club President Rtr. Anant attended the Membership Development Seminar & Intercity
"Mulakatein Aur Bhi Hain" at Dharamshala on 5th Sept. 2004 and got 2 prizes.
- The Club organized a blood
group testing camp in a big way in IInd week of September. A database of blood
donors was collected. Last year a similar database helped in donating more than
350 units of blood.
- The club organized a lecture
on "Job Trends in Airline & Services Industry" conducted by Institute of Tourism
& Future Management Trends-Chandigarh.
- A joint meeting was organized
on 25th October 2004 with Rotaract Club D.A.V College-Amritsar to forge a relationship
of sister club and it was decided to work jointly.
- The club successfully organized
Intercity Meet & Cultural Fest "Kshitij" on 7th Nov 2004 under the dynamic leadership
of Rtr. Anant Dhillon.
- The club members participated
in the Com-Fest organized by Rotaract Club D.A.V College Amritsar on 19th November
2004.
- The Club members actively
participated in the extended PULSE POLIO Campaign and immunized children in a
slum area in both the phases conducted in November 2004. Received commendation
from Health Department.
- An Inter College Quiz competition
was organized on 22nd January 2005. Teams from 4 colleges participated.
- 6th Feb 2005 will go down
as the red-letter day in the history of the club, an IDYE team from R.I Distt.
3140 reached Amritsar for their onward journey on an International Exchange visit
to Lahore. Our club members received their 7-member team led by Rtr. Dharmendra
Gangrade & DRCC R.I Distt 3140 Rtn. Pankaj Phatarphod. The team was seen off at
the Wagah border check post as they crossed over to Pakistan on the same day.
The team on return from their 4-day visit was received at Wagah on 10th Feb 2005
and were guided for the Border Retreat Ceremony and also taken to Sri Harimandir
Sahib and Jallianwala Bagh. An interaction with Rotarians & press meet and was
also organized jointly with our parent club Rotary Club Amritsar-Main.
- On 23rd Feb 2005 the club
participated in the gala celebrations on the 100th birthday of Rotary "The Centennial"
organized jointly by the Rotary Clubs of Amritsar city.
- The Club hosted the visit.
Of Rtr. Raju V. DRR-R.I Distt 3190 and Rtr. Harpreet Singh DRR- R.I Distt 3080.They
were taken to Harimandir Sahib, Durgiana Temple, Jallianwala Bagh and Retreat
Ceremony at Wagah.

club members actively participated in the Intensified Pulse Polio Campaign in
April & May 2005.
- The Club was awarded for hosting the IDYE teams,
organizing best Distt. Function and for its active role in upholding the Rotary
ideals in the District Awards Ceremony held on 10th July 2005. It was
among the best Institutional based Rotaract Clubs of R.I. Distt 3070.
- Our President was awarded as the best Rotaractor
of the Rotary Distt.3070 in District Awards ceremony by R.I Distt Governor (2004-2005)

- Launched a District level
project "Think Green Initiative" with aim to improve our environment. The environment

- The District level project

- In 2005-2006 we plan to organize an Eye Check
up Camp for College employees, Colour blindness testing & counseling camp, Career
Counseling Seminar & Job Fest, English Skills Seminar, besides organizing our
regular Blood Group checking Camp, Quiz, Literary fest, Essay writing competition,
College cleanliness campaign.
