These piles are approximately 800 metres from our residence at West Calder
The grass has been cut a maximum of 3 times in the last 9 years.
This unmaintained clearing is as close as 10 metres from the eastern wall of our residence. The Waratah-Wynyard Council say they have no fire abatement jurisdiction over large rural blocks. The Forest Practices Authority have indicated that the clearing of grass is not a requirement on a Forest Practice Plan and the Tasmanian Fire Service say they don't have the staff to enforce fire regulations.
