It also won the Arizona State Library Association's award for Children's Book of the Year in 1992, and was featured in the National Wildlife Federation's magazine for children, "Your Big Backyard" in November, 1997.

This House Is Made Of Mud is a gentle story of a desert family living in harmony with the creatures and land around them. It is beautifully illustrated by Libba Tracy and tastefully produced by Northland Press (1-800-346-3257). In March, 1994, a softcover English/Spanish edition was printed. The English hardcover version is now out of print. The bilingual softcover version is $6.95 and the English/Spanish hardcover is $14.95. (The book is in its fifth printing.)
