  Welcome

Assalamualaikum,

I'm a Civil Engineer by profession and have over 30 years of working experience in the design, supervision and construction of buildings and civil engineering works. My last major assignment was the supervision of the construction of the Beris Dam in Kedah, Malaysia from year 2000 to 2004 for the Drainage and Irrigation Department of Malaysia, where I was the Chief Resident Engineer. It was the second dam, which I helped to build. The first dam was the Temengor Dam in Perak. Whilst the purpose of the Beris Dam was for irrigation and water supply, the Temengor Dam was for the production of electricity.

'

In this website, I am going to provide some insights into the various aspects of construction, which I have gained some experience over the years and would like to share them with you.

Beris Dam

A rock-filled dam with a concrete face slab upstream. It is 150m long and 40m high. It is the 4th dam built in Kedah. The other 3 dams are Pedu, Muda and Ah Ning Dams

Sg. Beris Bridge

The bridge is 225m long and consists of 5 spans of 45-metre long prestressed precast I-beams. Being 45m high, it is considered to be the tallest bridge in Kedah. It is part of the diversion road, which was built to replace the submerged K8 road connecting Sik to Nami.

Whilst construction is my profession, Information Technology (IT) is my hobby. I use IT to assist me with my profession. For example, I use the webpage and internet when providing project management services, where my Client is able to monitor the progress of works through a website, which is specially designed and dedicated for his project.

If you have not traveled the Simpang Pulai-Cameron Highlands-Gua Musang-Kuala Trengganu road, this article is a good guide on how not to waste time losing your way to reach your destination.
