| Biography Rose McGowan was born in Florence, Italy, on September 5, 1973. The daughter of an Irish artist and a French writer, Rose was raised in the Italian chapter of the Children of God cult. The McGowan family (including 6 children, with Rose as the second oldest) relocated to Oregon when Rose was ten years old. Five years later, Rose left the commune and took off to live on her own, supporting herself with several odd jobs. Living on her own also meant being forced to live on the streets, but she then got her act together and attended Art and beauty school. Rose headed to LA, where she had a chance encountering director Gregg Araki, outside of a gym. Araki cast Rose as the lead in his film, The Doom Generation, despite the fact that the only acting experience she could claim at that point was a bit part in 1992's California Man. The Doom Generation was a 1995 Sundance Film Festival entry, and although it received lukewarm reviews, it was enough to launch Rose's career. In 1996, Rose was cast alongside Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox Arquette in the hit thriller, Scream, as well as the tacky Pauly Shore comedy Bio-Dome. In 1997, Rose appeared in another Araki film, Nowhere, and she starred in Lewis & Clark & George and the film short Seed. Rose is also very known for her work with Brendan Fraser and Ben Affleck. She has worked with Brendan in Monkeybone and the comedy California Man. Rose and Rebecca Gayheart also seem to be very close, as they both appeared in The Sundance Film Festval DVD in 1999 and have been rumoured to be seeing each other as great friends. I am also a big fan of Rebecca Gayhearts work and I love it that her and Rose get along well. Rose can sometimes be recognised as new charmed sister Paige Halliwell. I often read about people saying Rose spoils it and that they want Prue back. I have only one thing to say to them "Get A Life". Rose cheers up the atmosphere in Charmed and without her the show would now be miserable and boring. She's bad on the outside, nice on the inside, and isn't afraid to be brutally honest. That's a trait I admire, except when she is saying she loves me or hates me (and what I say about her former freak boyfriend). I also love her for the fact that she is a great actress and obviously a gorgeous one, let's all class her as the sexiest and most talented actress in Hollywood. |
