The Power Wagon
< ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------->
Since the smaller motors of the first wagon had issues at low speeds, I upgraded the motor on version 2.0. I purchased the Great White motor online for around $100.00. It's a 36 volt 900watt motor that has a max RPM of 2100. Because I used a 1:1 gear ratio, the motor still had difficulties handeling the high power low RPM situations. Because I really didn't want the Power Wagon to go 20MPH, I had to find some way of making a gear box to reduce the output RPM.

The steering assembly was rebuilt with square steel tubing and bolt tensioners. I bought them for $4 at Home Depot and they work great. The threads allow for easy wheel allignment, and can be easily replaced if needed. It also gave me flexability at installation because of the non standard distance between the steering rod and the spindles.

(
Beats spending $30 on real tie rods that will do the same thing too.)
Great White Motor with 60 tooth #25 sprocket
Mounted motor and drive sprocket. I kept the #25 chain from the first cart but ordered an 80 tooth drive sprocket for version 2.0
Final Steering assembly
Home brew tie rods. Started painting the frame.
Flat black will do.
