Prime of Chalices:
This card is the one that is singular perfection; it is compassionate, understanding, caring and loving. It is all that would or should be found as the attributes of the perfect mother. It is shows the Querant to have unbound creation, hope, promise and love. There is a great feeling of fertility in body, mind and soul. This card indicates that now is the time for you to create and give form and life to your new ideas and new dreams, now is the time for you to embark on a new journey or a new task. Your creative energies are at a maximum.
Reversed: It is betrayal, it is the realization of a lost dreams and that which you seek is an unattainable goal. Now may not be the time for you to break out or break free, there is an emotional obstacle that requires overcoming first. As well you may be thinking too much with you heart and not enough with your head. The most negative aspect of this card is you are totally on the wrong path and if it appears with a number of other inverted Primes, then the Querant should honestly and fairly look at their life and re-evaluate some of its fundamental elements.
Two of Chalices:
This card represents the hesitation of embarking on the creative path. Wondering about questions such as; would I be a good parent, is this project good enough, do I have the faith within myself. It asks you to make a serious commitment or maybe even a serious sacrifice. The two chalices are standing under a small cloud of doubt and they are hesitant to step out from beneath this shelter. It is not all together a negative card, it may also be, one of the last few moments of doubt before taking the �plunge�.
Reversed: This card is expressing a strong fear of commitment for what may be seen as selfish interests. It speaks a strong warning against acting with too much self-assuredness and pride in relationships and taking things for granted. No action you take will only affect you, so you should consider the long-term effects on you and those around you, is this action the best for you and them? This card reversed may indicate that the Querant is being drained of their energies by too great a number of commitments; it may be time to slow down and recharge yourself.
Three of Chalices:
This card is all the best things about yourself; you having pride without vanity, courage without foolhardiness, love with dignity and respect. It is finding and understanding who you are as a person and what you are all about and living every day to your full potential. The three chalices are standing together on a heart, where your heart is full of love and compassion, and that you are fully aware. Emotions and love are aiding your mind and soul in strength and promise. You are aware of your limitations but more so aware of your inner strength and with the realization of this strength you can conquer anything.
Reversed: This card is the worst within you, it is your pride and ego taken to self-serving ends. It is lust, replacing love, boastfulness replacing wisdom and an overall sense of irresponsibility. This card reversed is vanity and self-importance. It may also be an indication of trouble in a relationship caused by you or your actions and indicate that you should make amends if you wish to continue some current friendship or relationship.
Four of Chalices:
This card is the love of life, everyday spent seeking joy and seeing beauty. Having a good family, or family members, a great spouse, or friend, and loving to spend time with those you care about. It is a strong support network around you and a compassionate and caring world, in which you may well be the centre. You have all the love and trust you need around you and you have the capacity to offer love and trust to others. You should not fear the future as you have caring and loving people who will not lose faith in you even if you fail.
Reversed: This is card is a sign of betrayal or disappointment from someone close to you, or with yourself because you or they ignored the needs of the other. It is also a warning that not everything is going as smooth as you think it is or as it appears to be, and this could be leading to some sort of disillusionment and heartbreak. What was the security around this card being the closeness of you in a group in the dignified position now becomes a cage or a trap and could indicate the pressures of someone close to you limiting your potential or holding you back from achieving your goals and dreams.
Five of Chalices:
As with all the Fives, this card rarely bodes well. It is a major disappointment, the end of a love affair or the end of a dream. The chalices are broken or spilt, and once broken or upset they can never be made whole again. The only positive thing that can be said with this card; is that perhaps this is not the time for this hope, promise or dream to come to pass, your dreams may be destined for a later time.
Reversed: The Fives, reversed often function as a double negative, the loss of a problem or the end of a bad situation, if they appear alone this could be the case, if two of more reversed Fives appear with the Five of Chalices then the seriousness of the problem is leading to a very unhappy ending. This card alone may show the end of whatever the situation is of concern will be stressful or hurtful, but if you are willing and aware enough it can teach you a valuable lesson about avoiding any similar instances in the future. As an example; if you leave an unfulfilling relationship, that then allows you to find a more �true� love.
Six of Chalices:
With this card your �cup does runneth over�. Blessings and good fortunes are about to be bestowed upon you, if they haven�t already, they will shortly. You have no reason to fear the future, because right now you can do no wrong, you are at peak emotional strength. Be prepared for an abundance of inner blessings, not material gains but a total feeling of contentment. A full spiritual washing and revitalized cleansing of your soul giving you a new vigour for life, love and the inevitable pursuit of happiness.
Reversed: Things will be going along so well that you think you can accomplishing anything by virtue of your good luck and skill, nothing is further from the truth. You will try to exceed your abilities and you will fail with a great deal of personal regret and embarrassment. This card is a warning to not bite of more than you can chew, and don�t over stretch your inner resources. The most critical facet of this card may be that is could show a major problem with the health of yourself or someone close to you, and there is a strong indication of a problem with a younger person.
Seven of Chalices:
This indicates an easier journey than had been expected, with less delays and a much more positive outcome. The gothic windows on the background of this card, suggests what may feel like a religious epiphany, a new lease on life and a feeling of personal satisfaction and contentment. All of this change will encourage you to look for either a new and bolder world to tame or to live this dream at full speed. You may be able to get what you want with only a smile of a kind word, let others see the strength, love and feelings you have. Speak your heart and take a chance you goal and your success are almost within reach.
Reversed: The Seven of Chalices is the end of an era, not the end of a dream or of an ultimate goal but just the end of this phase. The end of this phase will require you to steel and brace yourself against a set of new opposing forces. There are new and unexpected developments, which should not deter you, but will just slow you down. You have the energy within yourself; you just have to make a small adjustment and rein in your emotional impatience.
