THE VALUES OF THE CARDS
Card value within the minor Arcana, all have an equal and opposite valued card. The Prime or Ace cards are countered by the Twos card. The Threes are countered by the Fours and so on. This is due to the natural balance of forces within the Universe. The simple reason for this is that for every force in nature there is a counter force and for every hour of light there is an hour or darkness.
This does not mean the RCT deck is promoting darkness, but the awareness of the duality of nature. The user of this deck should be seeing the Universe in a balanced way, or in an open and fair way, that does not necessarily mean or require one to understand the black and white balances of nature, but where one is at least aware of this balance. Perhaps also one should approach this deck with a belief in which black and white are more complimentary and less confrontational.
Primes (Aces) The Prime or the Aces of each suit in the RCT deck represent the best attributes that that suit has, strength, compassion, wisdom or foresight. They also indicate that you are one with your personal god or that you are one with your destiny, the Primes indicate that you are on the right path to achieve your personal goals. They also show that you that possess an inherently strong bond with the mental or physical traits of that suit and that you are very much at ease with the world around you and at ease with yourself. Readings with a number of Primes or Aces are characteristics of a strong and dominate person who is aware of their capabilities.
Twos (2) The Two of each suit provide a notice of a hesitation, where either you should slow down or that you are not fully ready to precede because of some confusion or doubt. Generally the Twos symbolize a fork in the road signifying an uncertainty on the path or a serious choice that the Querant has to make. They, may also be a sign that a more balanced approach with your mental, physical and spiritual energies. This balance may be the tool to be utilized to move beyond the hurdle that has to be overcome. Most of the readings with where Twos appear often mean the Querant has great reservations about following this path or that this particular path is unsuitable at this time. Threes (3) The Threes are representative of that which is within you; it is you knowing your heart, your mind and your soul. They show that you have a full acceptance of who and what you are and they indicate that you have pride within your self and that, that ego is not a negative traits but on self-realization and an understanding of all your abilities and skills as well being aware of your shortcomings. The Threes are symbolic of being aware and at peace with who you are. The may indicate an inner peace and contentment and an outlook of joy towards life. A number of Threes in a reading indicate a strong well-balanced person who is self-assured.
Fours (4) Where the Three cards are that which is within you, the Fours are all the things around you and how you relate to things in the physical world; be those things your family, your friends, your relationships. It may also be how you relate to your job, your education, and your work as well as everything else and everyone else you encounter on a daily basis. The Fours are how you interact and project yourself in the world, and how you feel about yourself in the world. They also offer a view on your personal security and that of your family. Readings with Fours in them, shows a happy individual and a person with a good secure life.
Fives (5) Fives in each suit remain as the traditional bad cards. They are doubts, quarrels, confusions, losses, curses and even damnation in some respects. They are a loss, however this loss may have a deeper meaning as this could also be a liberation, a loss of something holding you back, a loss of a personal problem or the loss of fear and doubt. The Fives can be a betrayal of trust, a lie in a crucial situation, heartbreak and a very ill omen of something to be feared.
Sixes (6) The Sixes are blessings, abundance and good fortune. They are being graced with an abundance of wonderful things. As an example of this the Six of Chalices it is shown as your cup overflowing. These cards are also symbols of healing, patience and compassion. The negative aspect to this good fortune, is that is with an overwhelming abundance of good fortune you may lose an aspect of your inner self or humility or you may develop an unhealthy pride. You may be called upon to share the wealth with others. The predominant meaning of the Six card of any suit is success by virtue of faith in yourself or your higher spirit.
Sevens (7) The Sevens and Eights are similar but they are in opposition. The Sevens are the physical, mental and spiritual challenges that lie before us. They are a short easy journey or a small change in the status quo. They signify a task accomplished without much effort or completed in little time. With each suit the Sevens are saying that using the attribute of that suit it will shorten the journey and make the desired outcome come to pass that much easier. Although the Sevens are a short journey, that is not to say you should relax and take success for granted. If it is easy for you to attain, it may be as easy or even easier for someone else, the Sevens more often that not say act now.
Eights (8) Eights are the reverse of the Sevens. The eights are distant and troublesome objectives, which will require much effort. They represent a long and arduous journey, a path fraught with peril and seemingly long in the length of time required to complete the task at hand. The Eights also say that the task at hand can only be accomplished with great effort and commitment. They may show a real need to develop that suits particular attribute of which may require applying patience and tolerance. Conversely they may say that the Querant is concentrating too much on just one aspect of the problem or of the solution. The Eights could also mean that now is not the time to pursue this current course of action. Again this indicates developing patience and adjusting to the possibility of disappointment. |
