Classifications of Rabbits
Body Types
There are 5 basic body types of rabbits. These are listed below.
Semi-Arch Type
The semi-arch body type consists of many of the larest breed ranging from 8 lbs (sr buck) to over 14 lbs (sr doe bottom weight) and larger. Semi-arch type rabbits are to look like a mandolin on its side when posed properly with front legs and hocks flat on the table.
Semi-Arch breeds
Breeds that fall under the Semi Arch catigory are: American, Beveren, English Lop, Flemish Giant, and Giant Chinchilla.

Compact Type
The compact body type consists of most of the smaller breeds ranging from 2 1/2 lbs  to 7 1/2 lbs (sr doe top weight). Compact type rabbits are to posses commercial qualities on a small breed. This group is also post with forelegs and hocks flat on table accept for a few breeds that are posed in a slightly pushed up position.
Compact Type Breeds
Breeds that fall under the compact catigory are: American Fuzzy Lop, English Angora, Standard Chinchilla, Dwarf Hotot, Dutch, Florida White, Havana, Jersey Wooly, Lilac, Mini Lop, Mini Rex, Netherland Dwarf, Polish and Silver.
