The paintings in this exhibition have, for the most part, been accomplished on driftwood retrieved from the banks of the River Colne in Essex.  My paintings tend to evolve out of preconscious vague shapes that I make with a quick and careless hand whilst priming a piece of wood or from marks and traces already in the driftwood - made by I know not what...these guide me towards what the painting 'wants' to be, rather than, my imposing a subject matter and meaning upon the object.  They are testament to the communication and meaning between inner and outer Nature as creations/ discoveries of both conscious and unconscious figurations of archetypal constellations and determinations.
