Wherein I Rant About the Trashing of Gravitation`s Females
Gravitation fanfiction just pisses me off sometimes.If someone knows one fact about Gravitation, it`s probably that it`s shounen-ai. It`s very well known. It`s what it`s famous for! However, despite the fact that yes, it is clearly a shounen-ai anime ... not EVERY character is gay!
In fact, only one character can be sufficiently proven to me as being gay. And only one as bisexual. I`m sure we can guess who these two are. Beyond that, there are only three other characters who I can see as being reasonably suspected as having homosexual tendencies, and those would be Tohma, Sakano, and Tatsuha. And Sakano and Tatsuha are really extreme fanboys. The Tohma argument is just wierd, and has been beaten into the ground, suffice to say, we don`t really know one way or the other.
So really, I am SOO sick of all these people with the wierd idea that just because Gravitation is a shounen-ai anime because Yuki and Shuichi are the main couple, the heterosexual canon couples, Tohma/Mika and Hiro/Ayako are completely ignored ... and actually SCORNED. God, no! Hiro and Tohma can`t be with women! Horrible thought! Perish the thought! No, no!
I mean, Hiro/Suguru is practically canon, it`s so popular now. I am SO tired if of that Hiro/Suguru paring! Yes, I LOVE how all the evidence for how these two got together falls.

That was it! Oh, something about ... they can both be sometimes annoyed by Shuichi in different ways. And they`re both focused, although also in different ways. And ... um ... they work together. Yeah. And they`re both single. Well, Hiro`s not, but since his girlfriend is female, she doesn`t count.
God, people. Not that I should be surprised, this is coming from the same fandom that wrote a fanfiction where Suguru was *gasp* actually Harry Potter! (Shoot me)
Honestly, it`s one thing when Ms. Murakami pairs up who`s who with who`s who else in the Remixes for fun, she, at least, makes it very clear these pairings are ludicrous. There are actually people out there who will climb on a soap box and go on about the validity of ... I don`t know ... like ... the K/Tohma pairing. The only thing that goes between K and Tohma is canon is some pleasantries, some light conversation, and death glare staring contest in episode 12.
And not only do the boys get thrown in with every single girl who walks by, the girls get TRASHED! Admittedly, there were some moments when I wanted to slap Ayaka around a little bit (mostly during her "Ohhhh, Eiri-san! *faint*" moments), but Hiro really cares for her and she was a really strong person. I mean, wouldn`t you be little pissy towards a GUY your fiancè dumped you for? I would, too! Ayaka willingly gave up on Yuki at the end because she wanted him to be happy. Say what you will, she gave up because she cared about him and wanted him happy. And then she went out with hiro, maybe to forget her wonderful Eiri-san at first, but you can tell by the way she talks to him by the end, she`s really come to care about him too. But Ayaka is pure evil. We all know she is. Because she puts a barrier between Hiro/Suguru, the "fated love" that really don`t make any sense. I think the nicest I have ever seen Ayaka protrayed in a fanfiction was when Hiro was in it for one moment and said "Well, I`m going to meet Ayaka-chan." Ayaka is female. Ayaka is with Hiro is not with a man. Thus, Ayaka must be blungeoned to death with bad characterization and horrible senselessness.
But Mika! Poor, poor, awesome Mika Seguchi! At least Ayaka was annoying sometimes ... Mika`s only crime was being too cool! I love how these lame little fangirls pull out this "^^;; ooh, i just hates me that Mika-san!!! shes such a manipulative bitch!!!" then, one sentance later "*squeeaals!* isnt Tohma-kun so KAWAIIIII!!!?? hes just such a manipulative baddie!!!!!! ^^;; *glomp* i want to have him!!! ill teech him to be good!!!!! ^^;; ONEGAI?!?!?!!!!"
Riiiiight. And you hate Mika for being exactly like Tohma, who you seem to be in love with? Or is it more just for being married to him. And standing in your way. Or in the way of Sakano, or Yuki, or Hiro, or Shuichi, or Suguru, or K, or Ryuichi, or Tatsuha, or ... I don`t know ... Yuki Kitazawa ... or whoever you want to pair Tohma with. Naturally, although you will make up a reason to make yourself seem intelligent, it`s because they`re just "kawaii" together. Mika is COOL. Mika is down to earth, harsh, mean bytimes, but SO cool. She`s a fiercly independant, super cool woman who is married to a man who quite possibly owns you. And she owns him. So essentially, Mika rules the world. Don`t screw with Mika. She`s basically Eiri and Tohma rolled together in a dress, only prettier. But, since she is Tohma`s wife, and Tohma, because he is in Gravitation, is CEARLY gay, and MUST be boffing (see above list), not his wife. Mika is evil. Clearly.
Give the poor girls some respect! Is there NO room for hetersexual couplings in the Gravitation fandom?? People are perfectly willing to split up Tohma and Mika to get Tohma with (see above list), but whenever someone says something like "I like Hiro/Noriko." people get all pissy. "NO! Noriko is MARRIED! And that couple is so farfecthed."
But, Hiro/Suguru is canon jr.
Just because.
Whatever, people. Lay off the random gay pairings for no point, lay off the Ayaka-bashing, a for the love of all that is holy, please lay of the Mika. She owns you.
