Busses and ambulances were waiting for the passengers as they
taxied in, and Mo and So walked out to greet the guys as that DC 3
puttered up to the chocks and shut down. Kit, the girls, Gena and
Will "vaya con Diosed" the folks as they helped them all deplane;
and the seven friends had a hugfest when our crew of five finally
stepped down to the ramp, the last ones out.
Will told them that he wanted to stay to supervise the reloading
and refueling and check for damage when they got to the Jeep for
the drive to the villa. He was pretty attached to "Lollypop". She had
been one of  the "Puffs" he had flown in Vietnam. Kit was torn. He
wanted to stay with Will to help, but felt too tired. The girls all
hugged and kissed Will and told him to come out to the beach when
he was done, then they all piled into Mona's Jeep. As they rolled
out the airport road they got a call from Sara, just checking that
they had made it in all right.
Jessy lit up a puro and they passed it all around as Sofi drove
them to the vill, then they all walked to the beach upon arrival and
shed their clothes for a dip in the Adriatic. Not bad was it. Not bad
at all, all in all, Jess and Flee surmised, even despite their getting
shot at. And Kit just hoped to himself that the girls had had enough
of the warzone.
They ate like flies at a picnic when they got back up to the
cottage. Mon and Sof had put together a huge bowl of everything:
pink grapefruit, coconut, passion fruit, guava, mango, strawberries,
blueberries, raspberries, cherries, peaches, kiwi, melon, canteloupe,
grapes, all kinds of nuts, sunflower seeds, raisins, oranges, apples,
pears and everything else they had in there, plus cottage cheese and
coffee cake on the side. And Marguaritas. They passed out after,
all in the same master bedroom, after some sex. O man. Woo to the
max.
Jess, Kit and Flece woke back up, though. It was coming up
on noon, their's and the World Court's time. They were just too
dang excited. They commed Sundance and he told them that
everything was looking really unbelievably favorable and that Jane
and Ted (this was 1995, you remember) and other big peeps were
with the Prez and that the whole entire world was paying close
attention. They went through details on the arguments and stuff,
then let the "Red One" get back to things.
They were listening in on the radio, but checked all the nets
that Puter and Cy could access for all the comment on it (and they
could access anything). Anyway, it was looking good. The WPG
had the lawyers and the argument. Some governments' and old
establishment barristers were representing the other side, but were
impressing no one. The opposition wasn't giving it a big fight,
though. Governments don't comply with World Court decisions,
at least not with ones they don't want to. Military advocates were
trying to put the last spin on things, plus quietly paying off some
friendly media giants for biased reporting. But not many folks
were buying into that.
Kit got another idea. He asked Pute to construct a phantom
flight for the Eagle out of Copenhagen and get it into the black ops
computers, then make up a bunch of "Jessy sightings" around
Europe.
"Edge is most definitely edge," he winked to his girl.
"I love ya Hotey," she smiled back. She wanted to take him
out to the beach again and convinced him that they had time before
Court convened. That sure was one hard sell. And they felt awfully
good out there with the waves caressing them. They had come a
long way. And a lot further than they had imagined in the beginning,
they mentioned as they looked together toward shore and the villa.
"The World Court..." Jess beamed into his eyes as they
copulated, "....is hearing our case, darlin'! You think this is how the
Beatles felt?!"
He laughed as he remembered back to when his band played
the Beats' music in the mid-sixties. "Yeah, I guess so, majesty. I
guess it's it exactly," smiling and wondering still how her mind
actually worked, but adoring the mystery.
They sashayed back to the porch and Felecia to listen in on
the Court coverage and picked up Pute, connected in to Cy, of
course. He told them that the Eagle's virtual phantom was spiriting
a chase by real agents, to their glee. But hard core suits were
following up on the reports of the Jessy in Sarajevo, P also advised.
So the guys assessed that they would have another dodge on their
agenda. They also saw that DC and Cincy were still in on the hunt
and that Cincy had dubbed them "Deepheart".
"They could have named us worse, huh Hote?" Jess smiled.
"I think they're naming you, cowgirl," Flee noted as they all
read the screen.
"Yup," Kit confirmed O so eloquently as he fingered Pute's
keys, suggesting more obfuscation for the agents.
Then Putey told them that Arnold was moving most of the
WPG forces into Sarajevo - stuntmen, extras, ex-militaries,
mercenaries and all. It looked like a big battle was in the offing.
And the Execs were getting more humanitarian flights organized,
coordinating with the UN, US, NATO and other forces all trying
to bring the Serbs to justice.
