"So," she said as they walked, "what's our plan?"
"Well...I was just thinking about that....I've got to call my son
and hopefully see 'm while I'm in town..." and Jess tugged his arm to
make the turn into the foyer and they headed for the door.
"I remember you having a son. About my age, right?"
        "A year older."
"And he wanted my picture...didn't he?"
        "Mm-hm."
"And mom wouldn't give you one, right?"
"You sure have a good memory," as he opened the door for her.
        "A good mammary...whah, Mistuh Cody...I am flustuhed,"
affectating her Southern charm school character while going out the
door. Kit let out a little laugh, and only little because he contained his
guffaw. They looked face to face and she flicked her eyebrows with
her smile, then added, "well, maybe while you're with him I can go
home and get some things and leave a note," as they walked to the
parking lot.
"Mm...uh...yea," the thought of them being apart twanging his
heart, but realizing she might need things and a note.
"That's my Jeep," she pointed with her face, but it was just
about the only vehicle in the lot and close to the door. She asked,
"where's your's?"
        "Took a cab."
"O..." and reached in her jeans pocket, "well, here're my keys,"
after she pressed the remote button on her key holder to unlock the
doors.
"Hey, it's good to see that you have one of those," he answered
as he opened the back door for her to put the guitar bag in, closed that
and opened the passenger door for her.
"Yeah, my step-dad got it for me," and she got in.
"I still can't believe you were alone here, though. You should be
safer than that."
"Mark was there." Kit closed her door with a smile and slight
shake of his head at her and walked around the front of the Jeep as she
leaned over and opened up his door and he got in.
        "Yeah, but, darlin'..." he continued.
        "I take necessary risks."
"Well, you can't rely on luck so much," as he put Pute's case in
back.
"ME?! Look who's talking!" she smiled at him.
        "What?"
"What?!...You find me...You woo me. You get me...and you
talk about not relying on luck?! You think this happens a lot, do ya,
Cody?!" she razzed.
"Wh...sure, yeah it's luck..." and smirked over at her, "...so, how
'bout the luck of birth. Look at 'chu..." he grinned and looked at her
(all over) after starting the engine.
        "Pretty nice stuff, huh?"
He laughed, then attempted an answer, "yeah..." and started
driving out the lot. "...real pretty luscious scrumptious nice stuff,
precious," he smiled and nodded on.
        "I am precious, huh?"
"O...a little conscious, are we? Doesn't get preciouser...which
way, pretty nice meistress?" as they came to the road and stop light.
"Don't ever forget I'm precious," she smiled back. "Where're
we goin'?"
"I don't think I will. I was figuring we would go to Lunken...
you could take the Jeep..." frustrated again by the thought of them
splitting up, even for her "mission". She read that in his face as well
as heard it in his voice.
        "Lunken Airport?"
        "Yup."
"Go right....I don't want to split up either...but, go on...I could
take my Jeep and..." as they got the green light and he drove them
right and up the road.
"...And I could see Josh and you could meet me back at the
airport later..." he concluded the thought. But he was flabbergasted
that she had read his mind so well about splitting up.
"Well, that sounds right. But why Lunken?"
        "That's where the plane is."
"O. That's where the plane is. My dumb. What plane?"
"My plane," he smiled over to her. "Left here, right?"
"Right, left....Your plane, huh? What is it, a jet? Will you teach
me to fly it? I want to learn how to fly."
"Nope, no jet. You mean no one's taught you yet?!"
"No, no one's taught me yet. A certain someone hasn't been here
to do that, has he..." and gave him a perfect look. "So will ya? Just say
yes," she smiled.
"Well...I don't know..." he came back and she jabbed a finger
(yep, that index finger) into his ribs. "Ow...YES," he laughed, everything
about her just blowing him away again.
"We're going to make a fine team, then. Yes, I do think so, Mister
Cody," she beamed.
"I love the sound of that!" and reached back to his bag and got the
cellphone. "I'll see if Josh can make it early." He called and Josh could
be at the airport in an hour or less. Zip zap, seven seconds that took.
Jess only got in a "hi, Josh," giving number one son something to mull
over.
"You know, Jessy..." Kit said after turning off the cell, "oops...
Ginny didn't like me calling you that, did she...."
"Nope. The day we met, I think, she told you that. I like when
you say it, though. But what happened to precious?"
        "How 'bout goddess?"
"Would that mean you're a god?"
        "If I'm with you?"
"O, and you have this all figured out, do you, huh?" poking his
ribs again.
"I thought I might've...but then you wanted to come along."
        "Really screwed your plan, huh?"
"Way...majesty," and picked up her hand and kissed it.
"Majesty's good," and pulled his hand to her lips for kisses. "So,
what were you going to say way back when you called me Jessy?"
