| -1- Although I may not be the man that I once thought I wanted to be, I am sure as hell glad that I am not the man I once was. I would rather be hated for something I am, than be loved for something I'm not! -2- To be yourself in a world that tries to turn you into someone else, means fighting the hardest battle you can ever fight. True happiness comes when you realize that you have finally won that battle! -3- Always remember that those matter, do not judge. Those who judge do not matter. Just be yourself - everyone else is already taken! -4- If you don't like something - change it. If you can't change it, then perhaps you should change the way you think of it! -5- Going to Church does not make you a better person - any more than going to a repair shop makes you a better mechanic. -6- The greatest thing about being almost 80 years old, is the realization that I can never die young! -7- Before you attempt to ridicule an elderly person, just remember that the magnificent oak tree is just a nut that held it's ground! -8- It may take two to Tango - but it takes two in love to endure a long Slow Dance. If you get out of step, just listen to the beat of your hearts and you will soon find the right tempo again. -9- Strangers who tell me that I don't look my age, obviously have never seen me first thing in the morning when all my spare parts are still on the dresser. -10- The bible has six passages that admonish homosexuals. However, it has three hundred and sixty admonishments against heterosexuals. This doesn't mean that God doesn't love heterosexuals. It's just that they obviously require more supervision! -11- Everyday I beat my own previous record for the number of consecutive days I have been alive on this earth. My reward for this record is the ability to look forward to tomorrow to break it again. -12- Choose to dwell on the positive event of to-day. Do Not worry about tomorrow. for tomorrow will look after itself. After all, to-day is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. -13- When my spouse says "Lets run upstairs and make wild passionate love." - I reply, "Pick one Hon. I can't do both." -14- Don't walk behind me - I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me as I may not follow. Please! Just walk beside me and be my friend. -15- Sometimes we stare so long at a door that is closing, we are often too late to take advantage of the door that is opening. -16- To stay in a closet all your life, deprives you of the happiness that you deserve. Mahatma Gandhi said it best when he wrote - "You must be the change that you wish to see in the world." -17- Growing old is mandatory; Growing up is optional. Being successful in growing up however, makes the getting old more enjoyable! -18- You were born an original! Don't allow yourself to die as a copy of someone else! -19- Before you take these words as the rambling of an old man, just remember that I have lived your life. Just hope and pray that you stay around long enough to live mine. |
