Traffic Calming - Pc Stamper informed the PC that there would be a temporary 40 mph limit on Coker Hill during the period that Wessex Water is extending the reservoir.
The Parish Council  hoped that this could be made permanent.  County Councillor Cathy Bakewell added that there was concern about the number of accidents at the cross-roads by the White Post Garage and that an extension of the 40 mph limit from the Bunford roundabout to some distance past the garage -  it was suggested that the speed limit be extended to Uplands Terrace.
Cathy also reported that a cycle path would be constructed in front of the Yeovil Court Hotel to link up with the old A30.

Playground Rebuild - Nigel Strickland explained the options available and the costings.  The P.C., after looking at the balance sheets, voted to put up to £13,000 towards the project and would be seeking grants from SSDC and elsewhere but it was estimated that the village fund-raisers would have a target of £10,000 to find to ensure the project is completed in a reasonable timescale.

Kissing Gates
There has been a good response to the appeal but there is still a shortfall to raising enough money to buy all six (or is it seven?) kissing gates.  £150 buys a complete gate which will be suitably marked with the donar's name or names.  Smaller sums are just as welcome and may be sent to the Parish Clerk:
Mr Neil Pritchard, 2, Font Lane, West Coker. BA22 9BR.
Work on installing the gates is hoped to start in April (Foot and Mouth Restrictions permitting) and all the landowners have given the go ahead.  Mrs Pat O'Neil (Parish Footpath Warden) was congratulated for raising the initiative and for all her hard work.

Hatherstone Woods
Chris and Ann Blight (Parish Tree Wardens) reported that they were trying to get a new bridge installed in Hatherstone Woods to improve access from West Coker - otherwise, with all the footpaths closed there was nothing else to report.
