On Saturday 2nd June a working party created a pond and a new pedestrian entrance at Hatherstone Wood. The pond, we hope, will prove to be an interesting addition to the maturing wood - dog owners are requested to keep their dogs out of the pond to allow the water plants to become established. The new entrance, situated at the top of Primrose Hill, on the 'S' bend, allows easy access for walkers

from Ridge Lane & Hardington Mandeville. Our thanks go to Vic White for allowing us access over his land. The trees are now showing themselves out of the plastic tubes, proving that the majority are alive and well. I estimate that in excess of 95% survived the initial planting, i.e. 2,850 trees - any failures will be replaced by the Contractor. Chris Blight (let: 863689)
