Dear Editor,
Foot and Mouth Disease
A big thank you to the Parish Council and all parishioners for their support, patience and co-operation during the footpath closures.
Rosemary & Martin Attwell. Barton Farm
Dear Editor, A huge 'Thank You' for the support all the local people who regularly used the Moor Field gave us during the recent closure due to the foot and mouth outbreak. We were extremely impressed by everyone who stopped entering the moor even before the signs went up. We hope you will now continue using the footpath unhindered by further closures.
Rose & David Parsons Willowcreek Farm.

Dear Editor, Through your columns, may I please ask people, in the nicest possible way, to be careful when putting notices on the board outside the Post Office. Some drawing pins have been dropped on the ground and unfortunately for me, both tyres on my bicycle have been punctured as a result. Thank you.

I have just come back from a walk with my friend in the Recreation Ground and yet again returned with a carrybag full of dogs' muck. No, I am not from the anti-dog brigade but a dog owner with two dogs and until recently three, and no, the dogs' mess is not all ours but other peoples dogs' as well. I have always managed to pick up my own dogs' mess, so how come it seems such a problem for other owners to do the same when most of them only have one dog? Due to the recent foot and mouth crisis, certain villagers have been walking their dogs in

the Recreation Ground and under the circumstances I am sure the majority of people do not mind. We are a village community and have to pull together and help each other out so I am grateful that nobody has complained. I am sure there will be a few negative replies to that comment but if it were not for certain people, Mrs Johnson, myself and another lady, the Recreation Ground would be full of three months supply of dogs' mess. Doesn't bear thinking about does it? Dogs are banned from the Recreation Ground but maybe peo

ple walk their dogs around at night without being seen so the mess would probably still be there - it's we three who are keeping the area clean! My husband followed a dog and owner only this week and picked up the mess - not once but twice - luckily we carry plenty of bags. Now that the footpaths are being opened, there should be no need to exercise dogs in the Recreation Ground. Contributed by a villager
