AUSTIN CUNNINGHAM/ WHERE I COM FROM/ SENIOR PARTNER RECORDS Austin Cunningham is a well known songwriter in the Nashville area.He write's for many well known artists like Martina McBride, Dolly Parton, Hal Ketchum and a lot more.Austin released two self produced CD's. "Where I com from" is his most recent beautiful, strong release with 15 songs, self-penned, self-produced that also finds him playing all the electric and steel guitarsparts as well as harmonica. His new album is more raw and rough around the edges. Most of his songs were recorded live in his living room. Austin says "It's raw but it's real. I've never made music for the "powers that be", but music for the people. Austin Cunningham is a great musician who knows how to write a song and makes beautiful music in a mixing of country, country-rock and country-folk music. Real Americana music on his best. www.austincunningham.com

RED RADIO FLYER/ GETTIN' SOMWHERE/ MOTHER WEST RECORDS/ Red Radio Flyer's CD finally crossed the Atlantic Ocean to my address. In the mean time the band changed their name in "Red Radio" and guitarist Paul Carbonara left the band for playing with Blondie. "Gettin' Somwhere" is a great jangly guitarrock cd with lots of roots elements. "The story of Angel" reminds me of Roy Orbison. "I got a way" and "The Last time" could have been penned by the Canadian band Blue Rodeo. Other highlights are "San Antone" and "Through my hands". There 's no bad song on his cd, so this is another one for your collection.
JOHNNY WOLFE/ BAD TONIGHT/ BULLNETTLE RECORDS/ Another cracker comin' out of the Lonestar State. You can hardly imagine that this is a debut cd. Johnny digs in all departments of country and rock. You can hear influences of Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Opener "Say You Do" will make you jump off your chair. "Flloish me"(after the manner of Chris Isaak or Roy Orbison) has a great Spanish guitar in it. "No Angels Down Below" and "Tell Me True" are great traditional country ballads, with pedal steel of Ricky Davis. In "Send Me Away" (a mid-tempo country song) Jason Crips adds splendid touches of fiddle. The title cut is straight ahead bluesy ballad with guitar of Jess Dayton and brilliant keyboards stuff of Billy Earhart. Throughout the cd there's exellent guitar work of Johnny, Wayne Turner and Davin James, who also produced. www.johnnywolfe.com
