| ... THINKER'S ... |

George W Bush
and Tony Blair have let slip the Dogs of
War. It is not possible to put in words just how strongly
I am opposed to this war. I think I have burst
numerous blood vessels just thinking about it! Just in
case I am misunderstood let me proceed to make my stand clear:
I OBJECT IN THE STRONGEST TERMS TO ANY KIND OF VIOLENCE!
AND I OBJECT EVEN MORE TO HYPOCRICY AND BIGOTRY SUCH AS THAT EXHIBITED
BY BUSH AND BLAIR!

... BRUTAL TRUTHS... |
The UN has become the world's largest debating club.
The next thing they discuss will probably be "Are boarding
schools better than day schools"? They sure as hell
are not going to discuss anything that needs democratic resolution.
Even hitherto ignored countries like Papua
New Guinea, Lesotho and Sao Tome
e' Principe will suddenly develop backbones
and flout with impunity any passed resolutions. Some animals being
more equal than others may apply in George Orwellian mind sets but
not here!
Single
handedly the United States has retarded
the global unity that has been strengthening since
the Second World War. It seems that now every man
is for himself and God for Us All.
I personally
fear for the well being of the United States and Americans as a
whole after this. George Bush has stuck a red target
where red targets should not be stuck, and for
good measure a "kick me" sign.

... A CYNIC LOOK ... |
Before I proceed allow me to point
out a few things:
- My sympathies are with the Iraqi people who
are being bombed on instructions from a Texan gentleman feasting
on kebabs and ground nuts in a very comfortable armchair by a
smoking fire. I saw a small girl covered with blood and the few
points Bush had gained in my esteem have vanished.
- My other sympathies are with the hapless soldiers
(on both sides) who have to obey their commander in chief under
pain of court martialling at best and a bullet to the brain at
worst.
- I oppose violence in any form
- The media coverage, especially CNN is so biased
it is laughable
That having been said, let me let slip my own dogs of war.
According to
CNN, I have come to the conclusion that Saddam
does not need an army, airforce
or navy to inflict any casualties. From what we
can gather, the United States Army, Airforce
and Navy are doing an excellent job making short
work of their own personnel.
Not content with
that, they extend their generosity in shooting
down passing British Aircraft
minding their own business. I would hesitate
to trust technology that cannot tell a friendly
plane from a hostile missile to
strike at pre selected, pin pointed targets.
Keen to prove
their accuracy, I am led to believe a missile missed
Iraq completely and ended up in Turkey.
No doubt that was an "unfortunate and freak incident"
But then again
they may not be lying when they say the choppers/fighters/tanks
went down due to engine failure. A well aimed missile
can cause engine failure any day of the week.
The sons
of the soil, better known as the farming fraternity continue
to amaze and inspire me. Where
Iraqi tanks and mortar shells
have failed to down an AH-64 Apache, apparently
those rustic armaments those gentlemen operate
do just fine. Using rifles probably made by Samuel Colt
himself, they managed to shoot down a couple of Apaches. MORAL:
Ground infantry should entirely be composed of farmers.
I have lost count
of how many times the Coalition forces have taken over a
certain port city. They seem to take it over every
hour on average. Just how big is that place anyway?
I was amazed
that the same people parading surrendered Iraqi
soldiers are the same ones protesting
the Iraqis parading their captured
infantrymen and pilots.
I laughed myself
out of my chair when our friend George Bush expected
the Iraqis to follow the Geneva Conventions. Is
this not the same gent who disregarded the UN Security Council
conventions?
