The climate is very mild for a mountainous area here in Norway, and we enjoy fantastic dry, warm summers and sunny, mild winters.
Mysuseter, where our cabin is located, is a small hamlet on the doorstep of the national park. Here you will find a few sheep farms, one small convenience store, some holiday homes and two hotels catering for the many tourists that enjoy winter and summer activities in the national park.
In winter we have excellent trails for cross country (nordic) skiing, starting from right outside the door of Berget. At Mysuseter we also have a piste for slalom, telemark and downhill skiing, and of course snowboarding. This piste is only 15 min. (downhill!) skiing from the cabin.
Rondane is rich in animal life, and if you are lucky, you may spot one of Norway�s last remaining herds of wild reindeers. Perhaps you may even see the elusive musk ox, an animal bearing much resemblance to the American buffalo. You might see foxes, elks (in the lower areas of the national park), eagles... All these animals and many more are waiting for you, right here in Rondane!
