White River Rainbows

After a rough night camping in very wet conditions, we woke up ready to go kick some ass on the river.  Today was our day.  Nothing was going to stop us.  The water was still cold, but it is also like glass.  You can see the fish in the water almost all the way across the river.  You can see the rocks and logs on the bottom.  Coming from the suburbs of Chicago, where the cleanest bodies of water allow you to see maybe a few feet, this is a special treat.

We went back to the same place, and after an hour casting ....nothing.  Grrrrr.  Not good.  I didn't drive all night for nothing, did I?  At least the weather was nice.  High 70's and sunny.  Then Jim decided to switch bait.  I'm not going to say what.  Maybe I'll tell if you e-mail, maybe, but I will say that he nailed a nice Rainbow Trout within minutes.  Oh yeah, that's why we were there.  We all followed his lead, and the three of us hit our limit in about an hour.
