Wallcliffe

A deceivingly steep sweep of limestone stretching for about 100 meters along the southern bank of the picturesque Margaret River. It is a beautiful place to climb with bolted limestone and sport routes , plus some good bouldering.

Its quite a small area with only a handful of routes - 18 in all ranging from 17 to 27. The best are in the mid to upper grades (24 -27). Two of the finest are Be Free (27) and Fun, Love and Joy (24). They are found in the middle section of the crag on some of the best rock. Fun, Love and Joy swings up through the obvious large roof while Be Free climbs the steep face to the left. Other worthwhile routes include: Kyle (22), When I Was A Sperm (26) and Life According to Gimp (22). There are more, but they have either been invaded by bees or are in desperate need of re-bolting. Though, with a resent lifting of a three year climbing ban these routes should be re-equipped in the near future.

At the right hand end of the cliff there is some interesting bouldering with safe landings. Numerous edges, pockets and slopers, plus a long traverse with its many variants provided plenty of arm pumping fun.
