Minutes of the July 1, 1951 District 4 Meeting
Meeting was attended by President Rossen and Secretary Peters to represent Vestal for the District 4 Playoffs, that will start July 30 and end Aug 6. The four divisions of section 4 will compete. Vestal will play in these playoffs with teams from Norwich,Syracuse,Liverpool, and Sherrill,NY. The tournament will be held in Liverpool because of the excellent facilities. The winner of this 5 team playoff will go to Corning on Aug 10-11 to compete in the Region 1 playoffs. The winner of this playoff will go to Schnectady on Aug 13. The winner of this playoff will then visit Williamsport,PA the week of Aug 21. The 4 teams in the Corning playoff are requested to attend a free  banquet for the teams given by the Chamber of Commerce.

I would like to thank Mr. George Cook, who now resides in Florida, who identified several players on the Lou-Max team photo pictured above, and who also sent in the pictures above of Don Cook & Doug Collins.
The pictures were taken 1951-1952 in the backyard at 821 Verna Drive,
The first season, 1951, saw the league start with 6 teams, sponsored by local merchants as they still are today. However, each team was assigned an area to draw from, and each team had a minor league team from which they could call up players as needed, ie...injury, extended absense, etc. Below is how the league was structured, the team sponsors, team color, managers name, and the location from which they drew players.
