I am horrible stuck in specifying a recurring regular expression in my XML Schema...There seems to be no other alternative other than going for Schematron...but I may choose to use RELAX NG, which is not w3 conforming. There seems to be quite a few decisions to make.

Mouse Gestures rules
Its really amazing how consumers usage drives software development. This is a perfect example. The usual routine of any internet user requires him to do a lot of navigation through pages, increasing the font size for a few, going back and forth, opening new tabs/windows. Mouse gestures reduces your extensive mouse maneuverability, through simple click and drags in different angles on your web page. Try this to find more. This is very compatible with all Mozilla variants. I use Firefox 0.8 (Linux) and this feature auto installed on my browser. This feature is also available for Windows variants.
Time is killig me
What the hell...There seems to be no remedy to this bloody clock problem..Now the BIOS is perfect, my hwclock works fine and so is my date. And today I find out that my "right click on the clock on my taskbar and a click on the Adjust Date & Time" is wrong by hours..
Flop show
Managed to see two flops movies in two months. Ek Haseena Thi and equally stupid MURDER..It just does not deserve CAPS...Nothing gets sillier than being Jailed for 2 years for just kicking a fellow student, as is depicted in the later movie.

This was the message I got when I made a wrong password entry in my .fetchmailrc file...

The attempt to get authorization failed. This probably means your password is invalid, but some servers have other failure modes that fetchmail cannot distinguish from this because they don't send useful error messages on login failure. The fetchmail daemon will continue running and attempt to connect at each cycle. No future notifications will be sent until service is restored. -- The Fetchmail Daemon

What message would a Microsoft based product display

Remote Host Login Failure. Please Enter your Credit Card Number for further Infomation. Let alone support.

Migration from limited access to being 24 hr online
This is my first blog entry uploaded through a Cable internet service. Cable modem works out cheaper when compared to dial-up even if u browse for over an hour a day. Hear are a few details, if you are planning to shift.

Cable modem : 3000/- (EMI schemes are also available)
One time registration and installation charges : 1000/- (+8% tax) [non-refundable]
Then there is a package suiting your requirement. A few of then are :
500/- (+8% tax) ...... 12 hrs.....500mb download....(ask Jaya)
300/- (+8% tax) ...... 24 hrs.....100mb download...This is what I chose.

There are many more schemes. Visit Hathway for further details. What I was really impressed was the Customer care center (24/7).No wonder Hathway owns over 70% Cable network in Bangalore and 6000 internet users.
Gmail effect
I wonder how this world is driven by competition. Remain an end consumer and enjoy, but when are into one yourself, keeping up with it, demands a lot. Google officially releases it Gmail , a free mail service with 1000mb of space and integrated with google's search facility. And soon to be found results, Yahoo tries to hold its shares. Its just not them, Rediff changes the look and feel of their service.

Main-Class manifest error
There is lot to a jar file than we just see it to be. As I was trying to run one of my Axis example programs, I got a weird error - failed to load Main-Class manifest attribute". Googled on it to find Sun's docs on it.
A Story about Google of the Future
The first person narration is not me. Take it easy. Life may not evolve to this stage. But with Microsoft trying to compete with Google ..expected this and more.
The best page in the Universe
I really admire this person's self-confidence..its not just glowing but spilling all over. Maddox. Brain Lara really needs to go through this, else RSA will impeach him soon.

So dumb. Just driven by raw inquisitiveness, I today started searching the web to learn more about the Open source business Model, later to find a link to DeveloperIQ , and that very magz lying right beside me.
What could I immediately think of ?....I was repeating the same old mistake of not looking at the existing, before plundering into the ocean, to excavate the already existing..This has happened with me over many instance during my projects...

Found this link in one of the blogs I usually visit. Girlfriend math .

I had an enlightening argument with my guide about implementation of threads in Linux. With the pthread being a LinuxThread (Kernel-Space) implementation, there is a lot of metamorphosis which has happened with the POSIX-threads.

On Sunday, in a marriage dinner, one of my friends started to talk about "d" - The Language. Well, that was the first time I had heard about it, but the thoughts it triggered was more entertaining.

What would be the name of the language, if I develop one?

At first, the passing thought was "Lake - not a Sea (c)". But I wanted something more concise. Then the second thought was "Tumbler - Everyones Invited". But looking at it technically, if a language is too concise then it doesn't serve much of a purpose..so eventually I settled for "Mug - Feasible to fetch".

Where were these when I desperately wanted them. Where were these when Bharath and I were discovering documentation amidst documentation, trying to read not just between lines but all of it. IBM is the open source guy. Well we can expect him to give away a few docs..oops not few but a bountiful.., but all he expects is a registration (free). But What happened to Uncle Bill. MSDN is giving away free docs on Web Services....Now where is the world headed towards. Who opened the Gates of Charity?

I am going to get killed when the king bill arrives. 1:13 min as of now and a few more minutes of browsing left yet :(.

There was some good news today while I was going through blug-tech....a bit of a "vadha vivadha" between two heavy weights of BLUG. Well, the good news is that "Fedora Core 2 will feature integrated SELinux (Security Enhanced Linux) functionality, Gnome 2.6 and KDE 3.2 as well as more Java software", and more, "the new version of Fedora Core will include version 2.6 of the Linux kernel". Lets see what kernel 2.6 has in store and what Java s/w it comes with.

Eventually I got both JUnit3.8.1 and j2sdk1.4.1_02 working on my machine. It was partly a divine interference and partly my keen observence. Well what had happened with my previous $CLASSPATH settings was that, it was devoid of a "then mysterious ":" ". Well, it did sound logical after I went through the SUN JDK docs. The command "javac" compiles beautifully like a baby. It was all the still mysterious "java" which actually clubs the "bootstrap", "extension" and the "User" classes to run the generated byte code. When we specify a "java filename" command on the CLI, java command begins it execution routine by appending the CLASSPATH contained path(User specified) to the other two, previously mentioned classes to run it on the king JVM. So quite obviously I had to prefix a ":" at the beginning of the $CLASSPATH variable to get the exporting and running, right.

The "hwclock" and the "date" command are showing the time perfectly fine. But when I make some transaction on the net, the timestamp associated with the mail/ymessenger is perfectly wrong, and more over it is not constant as well. Tried enabling UTC... no solution. I may have to do some googling again.

Math should be removed from Sciences. It is more like a religion. We add two numbers....and suddenly we are made to beleive that the result is a totally new number - Calvin.

Today I was trying to set up JUnit on my linux machine. Got a bit stuck with setting the CLASSPATH. One interesting thing happened when I was googling to set it right. I accidentally hit upon a SUN JDK documentation. Though much is relevant to $CLASSPATH, it provides a brief idea of how javac, javadoc, java and class loading operate.

My fetchmail with the -d (daemon) option doesn't seem to work. I could think of two things at this point of time. Either think about trying to solving the problem or sit back like Calvin and put the blame on the laws of society. The solution to the problem as I found out was stupidly silly. I was polling my hotpop server far to quickly before even the basic pop protocol could complete. Simple enough, just had to increase the poll time.

The quality and the experience of a chat vendor is primarily decided by his expertise in preparing pani puri. This, I say with over 13-14 years of experience. Having tasted in a large variety of places..starting in B'lore, then largely in Hyd and once in Varanasi, I seem to have gained an art to judge them. The right mixture of am-chur, namkeen meeta, etc.. just pleades to be rated. Currently I am adicted to a place in DVG Road (in front of Krishna sweets), but my unquenchable thirst to taste the supreme one is yet unsatisfied.
