Q1: What the hell is Rogues' Quarterly?
A1: Rogues' Quarterly is a literary journal published quarterly in Eau Claire, WI.
Q2: What the hell is Rogues' Quarterly, really?
A2: RQ is my chance to vent. I figured if I was this pissed, well, other folks must be ready to tie explosives to small animals, too. It grew from that to the idea of a semi-subversive underground 'zine.
Q3: What kind of stuff will you be printing?
A3: We will print anything serious, happy, sad, or just plain fucked up if we think it fits. We're taking comics, prose, poetry and art. We're going for edge here so try to keep our intended audience in mind. And remember RQ is printed in glorious black and white.
Q4: I like the idea. How do I submit?
A4: Heh, heh, "submit".... Um, just send us a copy of whatever you want us to print. We don't have much money, so don't expect it to be returned. If it fits, we'll print it at no cost to you (though it would be cool if you ordered a copy to help us cover costs). We'll take pretty much any submission as long as it fits with the edgy image we're looking for. E-mail is a great way to get us things (as it can't get lost by some yahoo postal clerk with a grudge against heavy envelopes).
Q5: You sound angry, are you guys like, anarchists/socialists/communists/zapatistas?
A5: Some of the authors may be, but the publication itself suppports no politcal affiliation. We are open to many points of view, but we will not print propaganda.
Q6: What about advertising?
A6: Yeah, I could respond to that with a spiel about how we are beyond material things like money, but the truth is that we need money to get this thing off and out. Our price for a quarter sheet is $4. For half $7 And for a full page $10.
Q7: Will you exclude "adult content"?
A7: No, unlike other 'zines that have had runs in the area, RQ will not exclude a piece simply because it has the word "fuck" in it. Now graphic depictions of intercourse.... Let's just say we ain't porn and leave it at that.
Q8: When do these things hit the streets, and how do I get one?
A8: We're shooting for a release date of February 14th (I know what day it is, it also happens to be the second Friday of the month). After that expect them every three months. You can get one by picking one up at one of several businesses in EC or by ordering one for mailing (you will be responsible for shipping) at [email protected].
