Above:  Now it�s climbing.  Oh Mama!  From here on out, the road became hairpin turns for the next 10 or so miles.  Notice how there were no shrubs or cliff walls to impede visibility.  It was possible to see 2 or 3 turns down the road
Above:  Believe it or not, this is still Highway 58 as it drops down into the Carizzo Plains National Monument.  Top speed run anyone?  Below:  We stopped by an abandoned shack to rest and re-hydrate.  It was very dry in those parts.
