Above: The Rogue_Biker at age 19. Young and stupid! The only modification I did to my VF500F was to powder coat the wheels white to match the bodywork. My first attempt at bling! I have to admit it came out good. I actually rode the bike dressed like that! I thought I was invinsible.
Below: My very first taste of super power! I owned a 1997 Kawasaki ZX11D for 3 years. This bike was the topspeed king for almost a decade. Although it was considered a sportbike back in its day, it was later considered a sport-TOURING bike. That's because it offered excellent wind protection and a relatively comfortable but still sporty riding position. Its engine was its main treat. Powerful at ANY RPM, in any gear, under any situation. It is the machine that let me experience 150 mph speeds for the very first time! My only dislike of this bike is its extreme weight: 600 lbs.!

One of the distinguishing features of the 1986 VF500F was the Lockhart Phillips lower fairing painted to match the body. The older VF500F's only had a chin spoiler.
Left: My very first sportbike was this 1986 Honda VF500F Interceptor. This bike was powered by a 500cc DOHC V4 motor. It was one of the most sophisticated 500cc motorcycles of that era. One that would never be equalled even today. Honda only produced this bike for 3 years. It was replaced with the CBR600 Hurricane in 1987.
