It was still bright out so we decided to hit the beach.  We rode our bikes literally across the street to get to the sand, which was right across from our hotel!  We then took a leisurely walk on the beach and goofed around a bit like little kids playing.  The beach was almost deserted except for a few souls.  We watched some guy in a wetsuit go Sail Surfing.  He had a small surfboard that attached to his feet like a snowboard, and his body was attached to a saillike a giant kite.  The sail propelled him across the water and he would jump up and over the waves.  He would get airborne for about 3-5 seconds before touching gently back down on the water.  All three of us were in awe watching this guy.  When we got tired watching him, we walked away and found this little lagoon under a small bridge.  We skipped rocks across the small lagoon to entertain ourselves.

After we got tired of the beach, we rode over to Cambria.  Marty was wearing shorts(the Squid!) and he was freezing on that ride.  I was wearing jeans and my leather jacket and I felt cold so I can imagine how cold Marty was.  He was so cold that when we got to Cambria, the first thing he did was go into a clothing store and pay $79 for a pair of Stone Washed jeans.  Matt and I laughed at him, but we understood Martys desperation.

We were a bit hungry again so we rode up to Moonstone Beach in Cambria and went into a restaurant right on the road across the way from the beach.  They had an outdoor patio where we sat.  The prices were unbelievable.  Something like $15 per plate, not including drinks!  So, all of us ordered $7 soups and $4 coffee.  The area was also full of well to do patrons with very expensive cars.  The temperature was really dipping down as fast as the sun was setting and we were tempted to ask for the Cashmere Blankets that were available for customers to huddle in while they watched the sunset!  Being three straight adult males, we thought that was inappropriate behavior.

We rode the 5 freezing miles back to San Simeon to warm up at the local bar.  There were two British chicks in there that looked kinda cute!  They would look our way, and then we would look their way.  This went on for a while but everyone was too shy to do anything.  At least when I was there.  After we told lies and stories for a couple of hours while drinking beer, I decided to turn in for the evening.  I left Matt and Marty at the bar with the two Brit babes.

It wasnt until 11PM when I got to bed.  I had been up since 4AM and surprisingly, I wasnt sleepy.  The ride that day still had me a bit pumped up.  I watched a little TV before I dozed off to sleep.  During the night, I could hear the Ocean waves crashing in the nearby beach.  It was reall
y very nice.
