Article I Section 13 of the Texas Constitution prohibits excessive fines and bails and cruel and unusual punishments.

Article I Section 18 of the Texas Constitution prohibits imprisonment for debt.

Article I Section 19 of the Texas Constitution is the state Due Process Clause.

Article I Section 23 of the Texas Constitution declares the right of every citizen to keep and bear arms for the defense of himself and of the state, with legislative regulation of the wearing of arms to prevent crime.

Article I Section 29 of the Texas Constitution declares the supremacy of the Texas Bill of Rights and that it shall forever remain inviolate and all laws contrary are void.  If only that were true.

The Texas Courts have made conflicting decisions on whether imprisonment for alimony or child support is prohibited as imprisonment for debt.
