Arkansas Enemies

This is Bill Clinton's old state.  I heard an imitation of Paula Jones:  "I am so honored and pleased to meet you, Mr. GoverNOOOOORRRR!!!!!"  I do not believe she deserved the cruel joking by comedians concerning her looks.  If you have access to the Westlaw, or are willing to spend a few hours in a law library, you can peruse all of the published opinions in the Jones v. Clinton case to see a wonderful exercise in stonewalling and violations of discovery rules, including sanctions for false or misleading affidavits in response to or in support of summary judgment motions.  But as you can see, Arkansas has no more respect for the rights of divorced parents than Mr. Clinton had for the rights of Mrs. Jones.

The Department of Finance and Administration operates the Office of Child Support Enforcement.

Article 2 Section 2 of the Arkansas Constitution declares that all men have inalienable rights, including the right to acquire, possess, and protect property.

Article 2 Section 5 of the Arkansas Constitution declares the rights of the citizens of the state to keep and bear arms for their common defense.

Article 2 Section 8 of the Arkansas Constitution includes the state Due Process Clause.

Article 2 Section 9 of the Arkansas Constitution prohibits excessive fines and bails and cruel and unusual punishments.

Article 2 Section 16 of the Arkansas Constitution prohibits imprisonment for debt except in cases of fraud.  I guess child support is a fraud.

Article 2 Section 27 of the Arkansas Constitution prohibits slavery and involuntary servitude.
