Try this classic (and to me, unbeatable) combat flightsim. There is a review on Migman's website here
Trying to configure it in Windows98 resulted in failure. I find it will work under Safe_Mode_Command_Prompt_Only (no memory managers) but you may find it easier to use a boot disk.
If you do not have one, create a dos boot disk. To do this, insert a blank floppy. and from the dos prompt type: SYS A:
Unzip Disk1 and Disk2 onto floppies. Install from the dos prompt.
Copy the autoexec.bat to the boot disk, re-configure as necessary. Re-boot and, hopefully, happy flying!
A mouse driver is added to suit the Harrier autoexec.bat. You may of course use your own, just edit the batch file.

I hope that in some way it may help you to keep this dos favourite running.
Whilst on the subject of DOS, I found a neat way of fooling Scandisk to check
and fix a damaged floppy.
We have all come across the 'boot sector' errors where the disk cannot be read.
When this happened I put in a workable disk and waited for the prompt for a surface scan, at
this point I swapped the disks.
Many times the disk was scanned and repaired.
Always worth a try.
