to work for the American Railway Express Company on January 1, 1900, and retired
50 years later in 1950. He received
a diamond service emblem for his 50 years of service.
He was at one time in the head office in Savannah and later an agent at
Thomasville, Georgia. In 1910 he moved to Monticello, Florida to marry Sallie
Taylor and continued his employ with the Railway Express business for another 40
years.
He
was a member of the Episcopal Church.
