Welcome to the EDSER homepage.
The surname Edser originates in Surrey near the
Tillingbourne Valley in the place name of High Edser in Ewehurst, and I
believed that almost all contemporary Edsers can trace their roots to
ancestors in the area of the villages of Shere, Abinger, Stoke d’Abernon and
adjoining parishes in the early 19th Century. This website is intended to be a repository and
source of information for all investigating their Edser ancestors. The site intended to hold a database of all Edser
records publicly available or volunteered and that all these records should
as far as possible be combined into one large family tree linking all Edsers
together. I hope that those with information more specific
than the available indexes will contribute their information. If you have any information that will be of
benefit, or wish to know more, please e-mail me at [email protected] “The
Tree”
The tree I have created is in the form of a Brothers Keepers database (BK6 is a genealogical shareware program available off the web) It has been created with data from:- ·
The International Genealogical index
·
The 1881 Census
·
Additional information from Parish registers
including burials (included on this web site)
·
Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates I have
obtained for my own family
·
Family tree provided by Bernie Mitchell of New
Zealand
I have linked all of
the above information in a best fit. This of course has require some
assumptions to be made and cannot therefore be relied on as an information
source. There are definitely errors; some introduced knowingly where I have
created overlarge families where I could not identify a natural break, and
multiple marriages where I could not determine the correct spouse. Your help
in removing these errors will be appreciated. I have also published
the data on this site as gedcom files using GEDPAGE . This however does not give all the information contained in
the database |
