The music would encompass many different styles while keeping a central focus on the identity of the band
Dark edged heavy rock with overtones of experimental, electronic, tribal, prog, gothic, industrial, metal, ambient etc... all with the intent to turn it into pop music
Sound impossible?
Here's some examples of bands who had their own identity while exploring a multitude of musical styles and textures:
Beatles, Rolling Stones, Jane's Addiction, Gary Numan, Led Zeppelin, Tool,
Alice Cooper, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Black Sabbath, Rush, Queen, etc...
All met with fierce resistance for their singularity and yet became legendary due to their lofty visions of artistic innovation
Other not-so-famous examples I draw inspiration from are:
Course of Empire, Einsturzende Neubauten, Foetus, Ugly Mustard, Kraftwerk, Buckethead, All the Pretty Horses, Killing Joke, Rasputina, Type-O Negative etc...
All of this will be combined with a highly visual and dynamic stage show that will feature interesting setups, video and conceptual performance art
A traditional club setting is not the most performance friendly atmosphere, so I will be scouting out locations like warehouses, open air concerts and
"performance friendly" venues like the Ridgelea Theater and others
