Well, you've got the egomaniac part right but being a musical dictator is the farthest thing from my mind
While it is true that I have a well defined idea of what I want to do, the outcome of what the band becomes is going to depend on the individuals who produce the music
Not only do the individuals have equal say in the outcome of the music, they also have a say in their role within the structure of the band
Are you outgoing and colorfull like Perry Farrell, Pete Townshend, Keith Richards, Keith Moon or Trent Reznor?
Or are you the strong, silent type like John Entwhistle, John Paul Jones,
Brian May, or Charlie Watts?
Either way, it is up to you what your role in the band is going to be
I would prefer a three piece lineup consisting of guitar/bass/drums
I would also prefer the members contribute in other ways such as keys, vocals, programming, alt-percussion etc...
Maybe this band will become big enough to support a 5 or 6 piece setup, but for now it would be much more easier on all members financially and creatively if the numbers were kept to a minimum
Your individual personality will not only be appreciated but will in fact be amplified to produce the maximum amount of artistic yield from each member
One of the most important issues is the ability to play out and tour
I cannot stress how important this is to the success of a band such as this
Being a big fish in a little pond will not get you very far and, besides, who wants to stay in Dallas their whole life
I intend on not only establishing a steady national schecdule, but other markets such as Europe and Japan are starving crazy for something new and unique
We may start small at first but I am confident that a solid musical foundation combined with an exciting live show and colorful product will make the band very successful
