& OTHER CLASS (ABS, BV, CCS, CR, DNV, GL, KR, LR)
  SPECIAL FEATURES OF SEAMATE:

- LONG LIFE (NO MOVING PARTS SO NO WEAR & TEAR)
- HIGH RELIABILITY (RIGID INSTALLATION AGAINST VIBRATION)
- MAINTENANCE FREE (NO FILTER ELEMENTS. USE OF
ELECTROSTATIC CAPACITY FOR WATER LEVEL DETECTION)
- EASY & SIMPLE INSTALLATION (EVEN DURING A BALLAST
VOYAGE BY OWN CREW WITHIN FEW DAYS)
- SUITABILITY TO ALL CLASSES & TYPES OF VESSEL
- AUTOMATIC ALARM SELF MONITORING (FOR OPEN CIRCUIT,
SHORT CIRCUIT, POWER LOSS, CPU & I/O FAILURES)
Electrostatic capacity is the capacity of charged electric energy formed between two conductors placed in the same space. The value of electrostatic capacity depends on the specific dielectric constant of the material being between those conductors.

Electrostatic capacity type level sensor makes electrostatic capacity between the eletrode and the metal vessel by separating them with insulator. The increase of electrostatic capacity caused by physical contact of the eletrode with the material to be measured is amplified and took out as relay output.

As the specific dielectric constant of water is far higher than those of cargoes intended to be carried by bulk carriers, this principle enable the system not to respond with cargo but to respond with water.
