Summer Reading 

As part of the statewide standards movement and the fifth grade language arts curriculum, each child is expected to read a total of 25 books or book equivalents each year to meet the reading standard.  In preparation for this, we are recommending that incoming fifth grade students read at least two books this summer. 

Students must select two books from our summer reading list.  (click on the picture to link to the list)

Students are required to complete the journals that were sent home in June, one for each book selected from the list.  Students need to provide written responses to the questions in each journal.  The journals will be turned in during the first week of school.
