All too soon, the ride was over and pulled up in front of the most magnificent building the man had ever seen. It seemed to be made out of solid gold and the sun shown on it in such away it nearly blinded him. Once inside he found it to be far more elegant even than the house he had found himself in earlier. There were people everywhere, all dressed up and having a wonderful time. Join in the party, Jude said. Here comes your girl now.
At once the man recognized the lass as being the one who had given him the Mysteria. However, her every day clothes had been replaced with the most gorgeous short, sleeveless dress of white lace. Her slim legs were clad in silk hose and her long, wavy golden hair shown as brightly as the gold building. Her violet eyes sparkled like the stars on a bright night as she advanced towards him.
Come with me! she cried joyfully, and taking his hand she led him into the main dance. He looked around and saw beautiful girls dancing around with handsome lads and was astonished at the sight. The lights which shown on them were colorful disco lights, moving around in dizzying circles. He had never seen anything like it. Light rock n roll music filled the air.
Now Rita took his hand and pulled him along and before he knew what was happening, he was dancing with her in the midst of all those bewildering lights. He had never experienced anything like this before, but he was enjoying himself immensely. He had never had such a wonderful time in his life and he wished that it could last for ever.
However, the music finally came to a stop and Rita smiled sweetly at him and said, Now its time we have some party food. He nodded and followed her, wishing that things could slow down for a moment so he could catch his breath. His life in the mountains had been so slow and uneventful that now he felt rather in a whirl wind and didnt know what to think. He followed Rita and before he could say a word, they were sitting at a fine little table together, sharing a fine desert which she referred to as Marshmallow pie. He had never had anything like it before, but he found it to be quite appealing.
When the party at last came to a close, he said his good byes to Rita and looked about for Jude. Jude soon appeared and asked where he would like to go next.
The man thought for a moment and then said, Where ever you think I should go, just take me there. Me thinks you know your way around here better than I do.
They drove for a good ways among the huge trees and flowers until they came to a huge hotel which said in fancy letters on the front of it, LaLaLand Inn. Jude explained that it was the finest place to stay in LaLaLand and helped the older man register and get to his room.
The first thing the man noticed about his room, was that it was exceedingly large and contained two king-sized beds. Ill say! he murmured in awe. If it isnt bigger than my whole house back in the real world!
As he sat down on the bed, a strange thought occurred to him. Was that the real world or was this. Perhaps he had been dreaming his whole life and had just now entered the real world. But perhaps not. What if he had left the real world and was dreaming now? Since he hand no way to know, he decided to simply enjoy it while he could.
He opened up the window and was stunned to see the ocean. It was a beautiful true green and seemed to stretch on for ever. The sun was setting and the sky was beautiful shades of golden and pink. He had seen many sunsets in his life, but none that came close to comparing to this one. |
