| Chapter 16 And in the End |
| They hurried to the door and opened it. There, parked in the sky was the Yellow Submarine. A light was flashing over the door and a message was scrolling by that said, Just Say the Word. Love. All you need is love, Paul said, and the door to the sub opened and the four walked in and closed it behind them and the sub flew away. They hurried down the hall and into the TV room and tuned into Johns channel. The timing was perfect. He was sitting on a couch in the Abbey Road recording studio and had just opened the letter! He read it and looked shocked. George! Ringo! he shouted jumping up. Its a letter from Paul. Just read this! George came rushing in carrying his 12-string Rickenbacker guitar and Ringo followed right behind with his drum sticks. They both read the letter too. We need to find this fella, quick! Ringo exclaimed. Paul, Pam, JoJo, and Rita sat there watching the screen as William Campbell was tracked down, auditioned, and fixed up to look every bit like Paul. As it turned out his voice matched Pauls perfectly and he was very good at the bass. Think hell pass at the show? Rita asked. Well find out soon, answered Paul. They watched breathlessly as William Campbell appeared on stage with the other Beatles. Fans screamed and clapped. Light exploded from cameras all across the auditorium. Ringo sat down behind his drums and the others picked up their guitars and the music began. As the show ended, the Beatles ran for the safety of their car, followed by excited fans. Paul sighed, Wonderful! Its gonna work! The Beatles wont have to come to an end. Theyll just keep right on going. It was worth it all, JoJo admitted. He put one arm around Pam. Rita looked at Paul and smiled a smile that said, Congratulations, we did it! He smiled back at her and said, Now I just need someone to love. Could it be anybody? asked Rita, looking up at him with those big grey-blue eyes. Till there was you, it could, he said. Now its plain to see that youre the only one for me. Ritas smiled softly as she slipped her hand into Pauls.
