| Chapter 12 Flower Power |
| Suddenly Rita felt herself drifting towards the screen and in the next instance all four were standing there in the Sea of Flowers. �This must be the Sea of Flowers,� Paul stated the obvious. They were standing next to a row of six foot sunflowers with faces. �They look like they�re looking at us,� Rita shivered. �They ARE looking at us,� Paul said. �Can�t you tell. Look the way that one is smiling at you. He thinks you�re lovely, Rita.� �I think they�re looking through you,� Pam decided. Rita giggled as the four walked among some wonderful roses. �The flowers are so big!� Pam marveled. Many of them stretched high above their heads. Rita went dancing out among a field of small pink and red flowers with cellophane flowers of yellow and green towering over her head. She felt lost in the beauty and splendor of the place. Suddenly she saw huge flowers in the distance, sprouting high into the sky. They spelled out the letters to say Sea of Books. Knowing it was the next clue, Rita turned and called for the others! �I�ve found the next clue!� A moment later Paul, JoJo, and Pam appeared from behind various bunches of flowers. �The Sea of Books,� Paul read. �Groovy! Now we just need to find a book.� �All I see is flowers,� Pam noted. �But there�s surely a book around her somewhere. Or someone or something to point the way to the Sea of Books.� JoJo sighed, shaking his head. �I think this is just going to go on forever. It�s just the game of life after death and I�m tired of playing.� �Well, you can�t stop,� Paul grinned. �So you might as well enjoy it.� �I see a book!� Rita told them, pointing off across the hills. There a huge book stood on end, partially opened. Then ran through the flowers and soon were standing by it. Paul began reading the large letters inside the book. �Step inside and close the doors and get ready for the Sea of Books.� �Looks like we�re in the right place,� Pam smiled, looking hopeful. �We might make it yet.� JoJo put his arm around her and said, �Honey, don�t get your hopes up.� �Well, come on. What are we waiting for?� Paul stepped into the book and motioned for the others to follow. Once everyone was inside, he pulled the book shut. |
