Slings Instructions:

1.) A wide sling tail allows both the top and bottom of the sling to be adjusted independently...allowing for a verity of positions you can carry your baby

2.) The large shoulder cushion makes the baby sling very comfortable by distributing the weight more evenly across the shoulders and back.

3.) Quilted side rails keep the cushioning in place even after multiple washings...keeping the rail in place while wearing the sling.

4.) This sling has an extra large width that will hold a newborn baby and continues to fit most children up to about 35 lbs.

Safety:

*The baby sling is not a restrictive carrier and you must always pay attention to your baby and the position that he is in.

*Make sure your baby is securely in a pocket formed by the sling.

*Always keep at least one hand free to control your baby's movement to keep your baby safe and secure.

*Allow your baby's natural weight to keep him safely in the sling. Do not lift him up or hold him in a position where he might fall out the top, bottom or side of the sling.

Preparing the Sling(This only needs to be done after washing the sling)

1. Extend the sling out and fold in half lengthwise.
2. Fold the tail end in half again.
3. Put the tail through the center of both rings.
4. Feed the tail over the top ring and down into the bottom ring.
5. Pull up a bit of the slack and spread out the tail.
6. Each side of the tail adjusts a rail of the sling independently.

Wearing the Sling(The sling can be worn on either shoulder)

*To wear on the left side: put your right arm through the sling. Pass the ring section over your head & place the rings on your shoulder.
*To wear on the right side: put your left arm through the sling. Pass the ring section over your head & place the rings on your shoulder.
*The pillow is worn on the top and slightly to the back of the shoulder. The rings are worn at the upper part of your chest.

*Note: Wearing the sling too low will cause discomfort in the back, because it is not distributing weight properly.

Cradle Hold (The best way to carry a newborn)

*Hold your baby upright against your chest. Either your "slung" or "un-slung" shoulder. You'll have to experiment to see which works best and feel most comfortable to you.
*Pull the fabric from the far rail up to the back of the child's head
*While supporting your baby & lean forward slightly, transferring the baby's weight off of you and into the sling.
*Pull up the slack.
*Each side of the tail adjusts a rail separately
*Adjust the sling snug comfortably around your baby.
*To loosen, the exposed ring and let out some tail fabric.

Tummy Hold (Similar to the front carriers)

*Hold child facing your chest.
*Pull one rail up to the back of the baby's neck.
*Pull the lower rail directly under the baby's bottom or just behind the knee.
*While supporting your baby adjust each rail as needed to secure your baby next to your body. This is very important to insure safety and comfort
*Another variation is to have the baby's feet inside of the sling. To do this, simply place the lower rail on your stomach before placing the baby on your chest.
*Pull the upper rail up at the back of the baby's neck as before and finish up by adjusting and tighten the sling while supporting the baby.

Facing Out (Like the tummy hold but baby faces out)

*With the bottom rail approximately chest level hold the top edge of the sling out to form a pouch.
*With baby's upper back against your chest, ease baby in bottom first.
*The inside edge of the sling should some where between the middle of the baby's back and the back of baby's neck. Most babies will naturally cross their legs in front.
*Pull the tail to tighten up the sling.

Hip Carry (For babies who can hold up their head and older children)

*Hold your child as you would when carrying on your hip with one leg on each side of you (front and back).
*While still holding your child put on the sling like you would normal and put the lower rail under the child's bottom so it set in the crook of the knee.
*Pull the top rail to the top of the child's back. Pull the tail to tighten the sling.

Back Hip Carry (For older children)

*This one is a little tricky at first and may take some practice.
*Start with the rings just slightly behind your shoulder.
*Follow the steps for the HIP CARRY but do not tighten the sling yet.
*Once you have your child on your hip, twist the child AND the sling around to your back. The sling rings should end up in the normal wearing position, chest area.
*The trick to this one is while holding your child with one arm for support, simultaneously swing your child around to the back while doing a slight hop.
*Basically by hopping your taking the weight of the child off your body making it easier to twist him and the sling to your back.
