Brawto
Chapter 2
Torg
Looking around while approaching the structure. Observed
that the area around the structure had been partially cleared of
brush for a distance of about ten meters. There was a pile of
broken limbs lying under a lean-to beside the main structure or
cabin for lack of a better term.
While checking the place out a being that could be taken
for a human approached. It was wearing what looked like a pelt
from the animal that I had first encountered. Seeing that things
worked the same way here as they did where I just come from so
far. Decided to stay clear of this being for the time being to
observe what it did for a while. This being was carrying a bag
made from animal hide slung from the shoulder that looked like it
was half full of something.
In the other hand was a stone axe. It had long hair on its
head with somewhat sparse hair covering what I could see of the
rest of its body. It was wearing an animal hide like a poncho
with a pelt tied around it loins. Its feet were covered with
skins looking like moccasin type boots that came up almost to its
knees. Looking a bit like a Neanderthal because of the hair. But
that's where the comparison stopped. It stood and walked like a
modern man and was endowed with a large well-shaped head and a
body with an excellent physique. Guessing that it weighed in at
about 200 pounds and stood about six-foot maybe a little more.
As I watched, it took the bag inside and set it down,
picked up a large object hewn out in the center making a kind of
bowl and carried it down to the river. Filled it with water and
came back. Then emptied the bag on a large flat stone in the
middle of the room. It had two small dead animals and another
skin full of berries. It ate a few of the berries and proceeded
to skin the gutted animals after chopping their heads off.
Then began to build a pile of wood as if to make a fire in
a pit surrounded by stones next to the cabin. It then went inside
and then it came back carrying a hand full of dried moss, which it
placed strategically amongst the pieces of wood. Taking a couple
of stones out of a pouch on its waist started striking them
together producing sparks which caught the dried moss afire. Then
placing the skinned animals on sticks propped them up over what
was becoming a fire.
It kept looking around as if expecting to see someone or
something looking in my direction frequently. After the animals
were cooked it took them off of the sticks and placed them on
another flat rock. Reaching into a pouch it took out a skin that
had markings on it. Trying to get a better view moved in for a
closer look as I did it turned looking straight at me threw its
arms out palms up as in a welcome gesture. In doing so it touched
me and I became ensnared.
Coming into physical contact with an intelligence as long
as it is cognizant and aware causes me to become part of it and we
in essence become one and yet retain our own identity. The moment
of contact up to this point has always brought immediate
confusion, but not this time. His first thought was I knew that
someone was there, who are you? I told him my name is Jack and
that I used to be human. He asked what is a human I shared
some mental pictures. At which point he questioned the strange
coverings while thinking because of the mental pictures that he
was the same as a human. I told him that I don't think so because
I come from a different world. By this time I knew that it was a
he and his name was Torg. And Torg asked where is this different
world?
This stopped me cold I didnt know how to answer his
question. So began sharing a brief history of how I came to be
here. Beginning with a visual scenario of the experiment that made
me a non-corporal being and ended with the use of the Loper
device, which brought me to this world.
Each time I shared a scenario with him it would trigger an
associating scenario in his mind either by remembrance or by
association. So by sharing my story I received his story in
return. He was born near here, his parents died when he was young
he was raised by the tribal shaman. He lived alone because he
talks with other spirits, which urged him to experiment with
unusual things, some of which were frowned on by the clan. This
was brought up through his association of my experimentation.
During the exchange I found that Torg and was 26 springs
old. I continued with where the experiment sent me and having to
learn how interact with the environment of a New World. My meeting
with Athra and being sent to Rax. He shared that this world is
called Brawto. I felt that he was curious about Rax. So I shared
some of the adventures that Samoa Rena and others had shared while
in their dimension.
While sharing one of the adventures he became intently
curious which guided our sharing into one of the intimate
sharings with Samoa and Rena. After which he wondered if it would
be possible to establish that kind of sharing with him and someone
else. Seeing that things worked the same way here as there so far
I told him that I thought that it might be possible if he could
find someone that was interested and of like mind.
By this time he was feeling curious as to what I did on my
world. So I shared while on my world I was interested in energy
conversion from one form into another. Visually sharing a few
examples of solar and thermal conversion into electricity. Torg
then asked, what is electricity? Not knowing how to explain what
it was shared a few visuals of the uses of electricity like,
lights, motors, TV and computers. He questioned what are these
things? I shared that it would be easier to show him what they
do and visually shared their uses. Then told him that we would get
into the specifics later, because he would need some background to
understand.
He shared that he was a shaman and lived away from the
rest of his people to pursue talking with the spirits undisturbed
and experiment with unusual things. This ability of talking with
spirits was why my intrusion did not upset him like others that I
had made contact with.
Torg: our sharing is different than the others. The spirits that
Ive talked to before are a lot less specific they just evoked
vague urges to experiment with things. He went on to get answers
I have to ask questions in a way that has yes or no for an
answer.
He was impressed with our ability to share complete
scenarios and experiences as a total package with complete
clarity. His sharing with others piqued my curiosity, tell me
about your other experiences with sharing. He shared with them I
dont even know who they are. But I believe that they are our
ancestors and deserve respect. Inquiring further found that these
spirit visitations were somewhat rare and seemed to happen mostly
at specific times like before or after a thunderstorm.
Then found that to the best of his knowledge that there
were no other forms of civilizations on this world. He began to
request information about what I called civilization. Through
sharing there is no way to hid or lie about anything. So in the
process of sharing he learned about boats and other forms of
transportation including flying and space travel. Torg wanting to
learn more asked many questions. Most of which I didnt have
complete answers for. After sharing most of the afternoon I agreed
to show him some readily achievable advances.
Like how to obtain game from a distance by using a bow and
arrow. Sharing what a bow and arrow was and how it worked. After
seeing how it worked he visually shared a picture of a branch of a
tree that he found strong and springy. That he had found while
looking for a suitable club. Sharing his experience using this
branch as a club, the first time he struck a boulder to test it
for usability it sprang back and struck him in the forehead
knocking him down. The visualization struck me like a slapstick
scenario, after laughing at the visualization. I agreed that it
would make an excellent bow. He seeing the scenario replayed by my
interpretation he understood my laughter and laughed with me.
When we finished laughing. He inquired, what else is
needed to make this bo and arro thing? I shared that he needed a
strong string visualizing one and its needed properties. He
shared that he had made cords from the dried tendons of animals.
After visually seeing what he was referring to I told him that we
could make them work. First we went to find a piece of wood for
the bow. Starting at the tree where he had first obtained the
springy club we found the one that he had thrown away.
Examination revealed a few check marks that we could remove while
carving the club into a bow. Before retrieving it we tested it for
spring and found that after curing for a time it was stiffer but
still retained its original spring.
I shared that I thought that already being cured would be
better than using something green that might crack later. As we
were shaping the bow we continued to share various things. Until
he requested specific information on how to hold the string in
place. After a few hours of carefully whittling making sure to cut
in the same direction that the grain grew so as not to split it.
We shaped the bow and notched the ends to hold the string
obtaining a suitable bow.
Then made a bowstring out of the tendon material by first
soaking it and then splitting it lengthwise into three pieces thin
enough for the string and then tying the ends together with blood-
knots. A fisherman's knot that will not slip, it actually tightens
as you put tension on it. Then put a fixed loop on one end and put
it into the notch on one end of the bow. Bending the bow into a
strung position determined where to make the other loop. This done
we strung the bow and went to looking for some small straight
branches that would make suitable arrows.
After stripping the bark off of them we fire hardened the
tips and tied some straight stiff split leaves to three sides for
feathers with gut string. Sharing that these were to make the
arrows fly straight. As we were making the arrows, I shared what I
knew about using a bow and arrow. Testing the bow we found that
the pull was about 50 pounds fully drawn. Sharing the mechanics of
how to use the bow. Torg taking aim on a tree about 50 feet away
with coaching on how to aim he released the arrow. The arrow
glanced off of the tree and impaled a piece of fruit on another
tree dropping both to the ground. He practiced using it until
dark becoming fairly proficient.
