Rocket Girl initially began as a one-man noise project. Influenced by bands such as Earth, Sunn O))) and Newport's own Spider Kitten, Rocket Girl recorded "Misery Loves Company (I Hope You Enjoy The Show)" in the bleak Winter of 2003 using deliberately lo-fi instrumentation, amplification and recording techniques.

Realising that no-one save a handful of grass-blasted Doomers understood the harsh, often atonal qualities of these early tracks, Rocket Girl (a man) decided to make more. Over the course of the year (aside from a quick break to run away with the circus) drones trickled like vomit from a sleeping drunk, the ominous possibility of suffocation ever present.

Finally the album/demo was complete, just in time for the bleak Winter of 2004 and a change in direction, approach but, unfortunately, not the pessimistic outlook. As we write, Rocket Girl has become Rocket Girls (also men) and is preparing to bring our neuroses, lethargy and paranoia to a live audience.
