Spring Over Conversion
With the front purches welded we then primed and painted the axle. When it was dry we re-installed the front axle and tightened everything down good. Once finished with the spring over part we started with the steering. M.O.R.E. offers a great high clearance steering set up just for jeeps with a spring over setup. It's offered for a 2.5" lift spring but it does fit the 4" packs we used.
M.O.R.E. sends the steering unpainted with pretty good instructions. I found this was the hardest part of the lift. First you will have to take the right front axle/hub assembly out, and remove the steer knuckle. The knuckle has to be ground down, drilled and taped. I'm not going to go into detail but just follow instructions and you will be just fine.
Here are some pictures of the steering as we did it. All I can say as that this steering works great and gets almost no bump steer. For more information contact M.O.R.E.
