Project Willys
Part 2
The frame was then pressure washed to get 10 years of sideyard dabris off of it and cleaned up. Since we are not going to use the original parts we cut off brackets we knew we were not going to use, such as shock brackets and the battery tray. the steering, exhaust and brake lines were all removed.
Our original plan was to extend the front of the frame rails and make a new bumper. then fully box and reinforce the whole frame with 3\16 inch steel tubing.
Now why I say that was our original plan is because the day we bought the metel and we going to begin the front frame construction, our neighbor From up the street, who is a technition at Land Rover, came down with a very irresistable offer. A costomer of his roled their 1990 Range Rover. They striped everything off of it and offered the frame and suspension to our neighbor. He has enough projects as it is, so being the good neighbor that he is he thought of our project willys and took it anyways. Now for those of you who are not familiar with Range Rovers, The frame is fully boxed , about 3 times the size of the original frame and  just as narrow. Now to top it all off it's coil sprung at all four corners. So we leaped at the offer.
Look at those frame rails !!
