A kazoo, a parade, am I giving you a clue?
A decade of performing - that's truly a feat,
We're the finest of bands - we've never been beat!
Come join us, let's celebrate 10 years as a band,
Once again we can be the "Best in the Land."
This year we were doubly honored to have two of our Rockatooters voted Volunteers of the Year in Rockaway Beach--which meant they would have to ride in a car near the beginning of the parade. But they were such loyal tooters, they immediately raced back to join our band and go through the entire parade route a second time!
Please notice the difference in background on this page. These are actual Rockaway Beach fireworks from this year's Fourth of July display, photographed by my daughter. Every year, the Rockaway Beach Fire Department puts on a phenomenal show, equal to that of any big city. It's a wonderful finish to a patriotic day!
