It's February 23rd: One of the most ironic days of my life. I cut school in order to sneak into a teacher's convention. Why? Rockapella was going to be there. And at this point, I still loved Scott. Silly me. So I met up with Jenn and we were sitting there waiting for the concert to begin. We were the only two members of the audience who had a clue, and the guys seemed to notice that. When Elliott saw us singing along with "I Am Your Man" he smiled, the most amazing smile ever. I smiled back and waved, and Jenn just laughed at me. The concert continued, and then "Don't Do It" started. Jenn leaned over and said "He's gonna come to you." I didn't believe her...until he was there - kneeling in front of me and singing. The next thing I know, I'm rubbing his face. I must have looked like such an awe struck idiot. That was the moment my mind said, "Forget Scott! I love Elliott!" ~Sue
As some people know, I remained a secret Elliott fan for a long time. I wouldn't even admit it to myself. The truth be told I fell in love with Elliott in April of 2001, more than two months before I actually admitted it. I'm not sure why I kept it a secret, probably because I was afraid of Sue. Then I realized I could easily beat her up. Anyway, June 28th, 2001 - the day when I knew I could no longer hide the Elliott fan within. It was an outdoor concert in Albany, and my friends and I were right up in front. Amy and I yelled out "We love you Elliott!" at one point, making him smile and say "Thank you. I've got some love coming my way." Then, during "Don't Do It," he kneeled down on stage and sang directly to me. It wasn't the first time I've made eye contact with Elliott during one of his songs, in fact I'd made eye contact with him a lot in the past. This, however, was the first time I really felt like he was singing to me because he knew who I was and knew how much I love him. I got so happy and I blew him a kiss (yeah so I'm silly) and he smiled and put his hand on his heart. That was the precise moment that I knew that I could no longer deny having a new favorite pellaman. G'bye, Jeff, hello El. (notice how much Sue and I have in common). ~Louise
April 22, 2001. After a short concert, but a great meet and greet, the guys spent a little one on one time with our group. Matt was mesmerized with Jeff and Scott so I tool the moment to talk to El. I couldn't think of anything to say to him so I casually said, "What happened to Keep On Smiln'? I can't live without Keep On Smilin'!" to which he replied that the show had to run short because of an act coming on after them. So I said - "Well - can we do it now? Together?" His answer? "No." ~Jadey
After getting Bear's sig, I stood in line to wait for Elliott. When he was signing my CD, I asked him about being in a capella at Brown. After he told me the entire story of his group, I told him that I go to Penn and was considering trying out for a capella, but ended up not doing it. He told me how his group at Brown toured with the football team and had to know all the college songs, and then launched right into "Drink A Highball," the Penn drinking song. I figured, what the heck, and joined in. Yay! I sang with Elliott! How he still remembered a song not from his own college so many years after he graduated, though, I will never be able to guess... ~Molly
Here's a short but cute one. After my PW concert on 2/23, Elliott grabbed a punch bowl that was full of potato chips, bananas and diet sprite and started to walk away. I said "Hungry El?" It was cute lol. ~Jenn
June 7th 2001. After a great show in Annapolis' Rams Head Tavern we were relaxing around with the guys. I happened to be standing behind Elliott when someone asked to see pictures of Eli. Of course, I scrunched up - scared to death he was going to be the over-protective father and lash out. Instead he goes,"Sure, I don't have them with me right now - they're in the back, let me go get them" and scurries off. I was surprised. When he got back I was still standing in the same place and he said, "Which one of you wanted to see the pictures?" The guy answered him and then I silently asked asked El if I could look over the guy's shoulder. "Sure!" he said. Awww Eli is soooo cute! ~Jadey
