| I form the Damascus Steel by forge welding two dissimilar steels together, folding them over and over, when I reach the number of required layers I semi shape it,. Work it on the anvil to obtain pattern lines in the welded layers, then I machine to just under size and place it in an etching solution till more of one metal is removed than the other, Then it is nutralized and machined again polishing off the highest points on the steel, when I have the right size I coat the entire ring with a black Teflon bake on metal finish. After the teflon has cured I machine it again to bring out bare metal on high points, polish it off and electroplate it with Gold, leaving a water resistant Damascus Ring or Wedding Band. |
